Gentlemen, the end is here. Final match day, baby! Some of you are glad to finally end the misery that has been Season 21. Others are licking their chops at the chance to compete with the teams from the other group in the post-season. Top 4 in each group will make the playoffs and then seeding will go so that Group 1 #1 plays Group 2 #4 and so on. However, just because your team may not make the playoffs, your team can still play a huge role in how far your opponent gets. Imagine crippling their team so that they fall apart in their first match, eh
Group 1:
Wrath of Gob v Despite all my Rage, I am
parrigan v comfort_eagle
Been a tough, not-so-fun season for the gobs. Just one more match and they can go on the highest shelf in Parrigan's closet. The skaven currently hold the 4th spot, so they had better be careful here. As a seasoned gob coach, Comfort knows exactly what these boys can be capable of with the right dice and temperament.
I Kunt v Bay City Buccaneers
Manco v Oni Goku
The Kunters have wrapped up one of the top two spots. Sure, they're down a blocker and don't have as many skills as they wanted after a full season, but they're coached well and, well... they're dumb chorfs, so there's that. The Buccaneers have had a pretty good turnaround after a disastrous start. They need a win and a little help from one of the teams ahead of them. Good thing for the Bucs that they also have a very competent coach behind the helm. Should be a really good match.
DG Chaos Cowboys v Bohemond's Ballers
dimmy v Sindain
Great job this season by two of our newest members. Both Coaches are currently in the playoff mix, however, coach Dimmy and his Cowboys need to be careful that they don't lose this match because that could give The Bay City Buccaneers all the daylight they need to sneak into the post season. Both teams in this match have developed nicely and have a great future regardless of outcome. Match of the week, right here!
Half Baked Orcs v Tegriddy Farms Inc.
waaarghh v gorbag2
Maybe if these teams spent a little less time on the Devil's Lettuce and a little more time in their playbook, things may have been different. Then again, maybe not Again, both of these teams have some good building blocks for the future, an ST4 Blitzer for the humans and an AG4 thrower and ST6 troll(!), they just need to stick with the good times as well as the not-so-good ones.
Group2:
A Bird in the Hand v Mediocre Executioner's
me v evilspike6
The season's basically over for the both of us. Best I can do is offer one of those free wins, right? All you have to do is come and get it, Evilspike
The Rotrage Festerfiends v Midnight Wrath
asphyxious v varensire / almarion
Exiting match here. The Fiends are currently on the outside looking in. Midnight Wrath is clinging to the last spot (in-game, at least). Both coaches will be sure to go all out here. A super-deep bench and some claw may prove to be the difference here. Oh, and maybe the AG4 players may have something to do with a tight match, too.
Me Orc, You Orc, We Orc v It Ain't Ogre till it's Ogre
tencoin v ravers
Despite a tough season, Coach Tencoin still has a shot to enter the playoffs. Some brutal breaks this season have taken some wind out of the sails, but I think the Orcs have a fighter's chance. Just like Parrigan in Group 1, this is a season that Coach Ravers wants to put behind him. That's twice that he's tried to play the stunties and twice that he's wanted to forget the experience.
Orc's Land Raydors v Bone Thugs n Anarchy
seriously v DocOz3000
Both of these teams have already earned a playoff spot. Again, just like Dimmy and Sindain, it'll be interesting to see how these teams go about facing each other. Do they beat each other to a pulp? Maybe. Do they play fancy and try to get into the playoffs in as best shape as possible? I hope not. These teams should be looking to end the others' hopes in the post season.
Enjoy the matches, guys. MD will roll next Wednesday, 04 December.
