Gentlemen, we have arrived! The day is here where what you did in the regular season means nothing! As the once-great Coach Al Davis of the Orcland Raiders once said: Just Win, Baby!!!!
And win you must if you want to continue to play musical Immortal Throne! Four teams have made the cut. Only two seats remain for the Final. Polish your helmets, reinforce your pads (like us Americans and our NFL), and most of all lace up your stompin' boots nice and tight because here, it's win or go home!
The Maatches:
The Grudge Bringers v The Borf
Seems like just yesterday these two coaches and their teams met on the pitch to vie for supremacy. The eventual draw is remembered by neither coach. Each believes he got the better of the other and that if not for Lord Nuffle's intervention, a clear victory would have been surely awarded!
Coach Manco is riding high on his current win streak. After suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Champion, he has rebounded with renewed vigor. No team is more feared; no team is riding a hotter win streak into the post-season like Coach Manco and The Borf. Will his success continue? Will his claw peel through Deano's Dwarves like butter? Tune in for the result, fans...
Some would say Coach Deano's momentum has definitely taken a hit over the last few weeks. He quickly emerged as a favorite to battle it out for his rightful place on the Immortal Throne with two decisive wins over the competition. He has slowed, however, just like the stuntiy-legged dwarves' drives... Two draws and a loss sees Coach Deano limp into the post season. He has drawn possibly the worst opponent. How will this potential Champion react? Will his Dwarves roll into little balls and let Manco's Gor's and Warriors run amok thru his ranks? Or will he remember the 'little' slights The Borf assaulted his Grudge Bringers their last match? Is Coach Deano worthy? Tune is sports fans, the match is right around the corner!
PREDICTION: Coach Manco will tear thru the little-legged Dwarves in fashion. He'll use Coach Deano's flayed skin as a lampshade. All that Claw?! I'd even be scared to face him with a Goblin team! Score: 2-0 for The Borf!
Anubis Serpents v Falcon Firebirds
The match of the century? Maybe....
The match of the season? Definitely!!!!!
The Anubis Serpents have been seemingly unstoppable since their ascension to the Immortal Throne League. Did you see their inaugural match?! They destroyed the Falcon Firebirds! The only speedbump came on the last match day against The Borf. How will Coach Jester rebound? Will he retain some of the shell-shock from his last match? Will he return to the form that outlasted and outplayed the Champion Firebirds on the first match day of the season? Tune in to find out...
What makes a Champion? Is it his team? Is it Lord Nuffle's Blessing? (Yeah, I know that certainly helps!!! lol) Is it inferior opponents playing inferior matches? Gentlemen, I don't know the answer to this question; I have yet to ascend the Immortal Throne! But Coach Goodpass has tasted ultimate victory. He knows what it takes. He has played the lone non-bash team in Immortal. And he has succeeded. He is the returning Champion, ready to defend his title. Will his tenacious defense be enough? Will his Elves play their hearts out for this Coach? Will they avenge their worst defeat? I'm not positive of the result, gentlemen, but I am certain they will try!!!
PREDICTION: Coach Goodpass makes good on his revenge! It will just take one(!) failed action by Coach Jester. Just one turnover for Coach Goodpass and his Firebirds to pounce and seize the initiative from the Tomb Kings. Sorry, Jester, it's just the way I see things shaping out... 2-1 for The Champion Firebirds!
Gentlemen, regardless of my silly predictions, I wish you well! May your dice be blessed by Lord Nuffle!
(I won't bother with a deadline. You are the 'big boys'. Play your matches. Upload to the current BBM league. Kick ass and take names!)
