Gents,
We have entered the final stretch. It's not quite time to buckle your safety belt and return your seat to it's full upright position. Not just yet. A bit more blood needs to be spilt onto the tarmac in order to appease Lord Nuffle
With three matches to go anything can happen. No team is mathematically eliminated yet (though my bitches are close!). So stick with your plan, dear coaches. Even if you make the PO's in one of the final spots, you can still ride the wave to ultimate victory!
Ok, now the facts:
The match day will roll next Wednesday, 28 January at 2100 PST/GMT-8. (but I know we'll get this shit played waaay before then!)
Upload to BBM: League IP Iron League (S6) Pword: 123
Ensure you post your availability before Friday, 23 January or risk an admin loss because you don't care enough to make a simple post.
Right... the Matches!!!
Northern Pain v Sour Saurii
The Northern Pain are holding on... just barely. Coach Deano has busted out the crutches; he's used bandages;he's even resorted to using glue to hold his Norse together through this marathon season. Sadly he won't get a break this week as he faces the second or third best Lizzie coach we boast().
Jounisii rebounded very well vs the incumbent Champion last week. Soundly beat those Necro's. But the Saurii enter this match down one of their Saurus and giving away over 100k in inducements. Will that make the difference?
PREDICTION: Yeah, being down a Saurus and giving away a bribe, or apoth, or RR, or potions will have it's desired effect. That and Deano needs this win to try to solidify a shot at the post season. But having only a single tackle player will also take it's toll. 2-1 for the Saurii as the skinks run amok.
Gorland Inferno v Neorromanticos
Coach Gorbag is coming off a defeat where his usually-reliable Minotaur, Mr. Bloodpunch did everything wrong. I expect Coach Gorbag to reel in this wild beast and play a more deliberate match. Plus having his Blocking corps back to full strength will surely help!
Coach hirumazeo and his Champions have been riding a roller-coaster all season long, folks. One week, they decimate their opponent only to lose themselves the following week. But no more. Neorromanticos have their eyes set on repeating as Champions. They will claw their way to the top of the heap one more time!
PREDICTION: I expect the Inferno to shore up their offence. I expect the extra blocker to make a difference. I expect a 2-1 win for Gorbag. I also expect Wollack Melenablanca to wreak havoc on the Inferno's plan so take the prediction with a gain of salt.
Severe Drowsiness v Slinky Jacks All Stars
This match week might seem a little like ground hog day for the Drow as they face another fearsome bunch of Lizards. Last week, Coach Parrigan gave Longstreet a run for his money. This week, Coach Longstreet gets to show the world he has learned from his mistakes and will try to punish the All stars for theirs.
The All Stars are coming off back-to-back wins. They have steadily improved their chances for a post-season berth. Currently sitting in 6th, they look to improve their positioning by knocking Coach Longstreet from the 4-way tie for 7th place.
PREDICTION: I think the All Stars Roll on, 3-1. A few Casualties/ Ko's will tip the scales early and the skinks manage to grab the ball on defense and score.
Word of Borf v Babes N' Blades
Coach Manco sits comfortably atop the division. Even if he drops the next three matches, he's already assured of a spot in the playoffs. Plenty of guard and plenty of Mighty Blow will surely keep him competitive.
I am clearly the worst Coach of the lot this season, folks. I need players from the opposition to throw the match in order for me to be competitive. I don't see how I'll have enough players after the Borf's first drive to compete.
PREDICTION: 2-1 for the Borf Poor Havol.
The Night Hawks v Banana Warriors
MATCH OF THE WEEK!
Two of the teams tied for 7th face off this week. Both have playoff aspirations. Can Jester and the Night Hawks exploit Coach Parrigan while he's in sunny California? No home-field advantage there, for sure!! Coach Parrigan comes in at full strength while Jester is sorely missing a key piece to his game plan. However, The Warriors are giving away over 200k in Inducements. Banana Warriors beware...
PREDICTION: 2-2 draw. I think CJ will use his inducements wisely. At the expense of the Warriors But too much mobility and not enough tackle for Coach Parrigan's crew will prevent Jester from snatching victory.
White Handz v The Maniac Maedics
Hmm... So if you had a true killer Chaos Warrior and over 600k in inducements and were facing the second-most hated star in the entire Iron Phoenix; what would you do? Would you try to win without a 'real' supporting cast? Or would you try to chip away at the most feared team in the league?
Yeah, me too.
For the record, I would have loved to see this match early this season before everything went south for the Medics. Would have been great to watch. Sadly this farce is what we get.
PREDICTION: 3-0 to the Handz. I think they'll inflict much more damage, too. Good thing the Stig's never playing BB again, right, CJ?
Well, thanks for tuning in again, dear Coachees. Enjoy your time on the pitch and if I may... A word of advice:
Next time your spouse/ GF/ general BB-hater gets on you for spending too much time on 'that fucking game', let them know they can find you at the pub in the future if they dont like you at home
Until next time, peeps.
