Far in the Northern Isles, in the land of the Norsemen, there is cave system known as the Bruk'Arai. The local norsemen believe these caves to be cursed territory that corrupts or destroys all creatures who dwell there. Twisted species of bats and dire wolves are among the sorts of creatures that thrive in the Bruk'Arai. On occasion a raving mad Yhetee will spew forth from the depths and wreak havoc on the locals. There is however a reclusive society of dark elves that reside in the Bruk'Arai. These dark elves are said to be even more evil and even more malevolent than the majority of the species as a whole. This society is structured around devil and demon worship of the worst kind. The darkies in the Bruk'Arai for the most part do not tear themselves apart with internal power struggles as is the fate of much of dark elf society but are united in their devilry and believe themselves to be the chosen people of the being known as The Unholy One, the Lord of the Fallen, the Anti-God, and all the other names given to Lord of the Underworld by the different species and religions of the Multiverse. Luckily for the Norse people, the dark elves of the Bruk'Arai have seen fit to stay put in their cursed darkness for the time being, but their power grows in secret.
The Prince of Rivendell wanted his Invitational Cup to be the most grand blood bowl tournament ever held. He knew that to do this all elves must be represented including the despicable twisted ones in the Bruk'Arai and so the invitation was sent out by messenger. The messenger never returned with RSVP. In fact he never returned at all to this day. The Prince of Rivendell was unsure if the Bruk'Arai would come but the message was in fact recieved. The normally reclusive darkies in the northern caves saw this event as an opportunity to demonstrate the power of the Lord of the Fallen and so they put together the best team they could muster for the upcoming tourney. Before departing for Rivendell, the Bruk'Arai elves held a grand ritual to empower their team and muster favor from the Dark Lord of the Underworld. They used the messenger from Rivendell as a sacrifice. The messenger was tied down on a raised dias and was bled dry by the three Queen Witch Elves that rule the Bruk'Arai with their ceremonial corkscrew daggers. The blood of the messenger was then collected in simple black iron chalices and each member of the new team was given a chalice of blood to drink. As they drank the blood the Queen Witch Elves called on the Lord of the Underworld to empower their new blood bowlers with dark blessings for his greater glory. Then something magnificent happened...
Eleven greenish smoky wisps poured forth from the dead elf messenger's gaping mouth and circled the players whose mouths were dripping blood down their narrow chins. Next, all three of the queen witch trio began to convulse and their eyes rolled back in their heads. All at once the trio of seductive witches went still, their eyes now smoky black, and they began to speak in unison with one voice, one message. "Pleased I am with your endeavors Bruk'Arai. Circling above you are the souls of my most elite demons and dark angels, my most trusted black captains, and my most loyal fell champions. Through your vessels they will inhabit this realm and play for my honor. AMON, AZAZEL, BAAL, LEVIATHON, LAHASH, PHARZUPH, VALAC, SHAX, WORMWOOD, VALEFOR, SAMAEL. Inhabit this realm and spread my dominion, win this tourney and display my power. Prove your worthy of my maldevine blessings." The trio of dark queens collapsed and the circling souls of the Devil's generals plunged down into the Bruk'Arai players and the Falln Angels blood bowl team was born.
