Totally, understood... one thing I do know is when you play some of the people in matchmaker... you can end up against PRO PLAYERs... and yes, I have had several games with 10+ injury's in fact my record is 10-5-31 currently
so, yeah I started playing dwarfs because they die less

However, they get hit a lot! My preferred teams are AV7 dodgers, if they get hit, they fall down, and usually go splat...the challenge is hitting them! Yes, unfortunately, leagues like Auld do have some pro players, but the main problem isnt that, it's "farmed" teams...I'm sure you;ve seen em...6 players, TV anything from 1000 to 1600, they will pad their team with loners and just use 4-8 super-high level players to kick the crap out of you. Unfortunately it's rife and happens far too often, which is why I only play in Auld for either laughs or quick games with friends. Yet another reason to try and sign a team or two up for phoenix open! Far less of that shite there, and also the games tend to be more civilised and less brutal (usually...there are exceptions)

Yeah, then you do understand what keeps happening to me... honestly, I don't think I have ever checked the other teams roster before starting the games... I just normally click play
but, what you are saying makes senses now that I think about it

Think we have all encountered the builds with half loners and half high level players. If I end up in one of those mstches I will simply foul the hell out of those stars. Usually leads to them disconnecting which is s pain, but holds its own satisfaction

Or if you really want to do MatchMaking, you can play Forum Open League which will boot any teams going the MinMax route.
However it is still full of quitters, ragers, whingers... I only play private leagues these days.
Back on topic - I think there is nothing wrong with dwarfs. Not overpowered, some strengths and weaknesses, just as it should be.

The only issue I have with dwarves is that out of the box they are, given equal skill between coaches, the ideal counter to far too many teams at 1000tv. I know all teams have better and worse opponents, but dwarves are the foil for far too many with uniblock plus a lot of tackle. And if dwarves start with thick skull so should orcs!

I totally agree with ... in fact that is a very good question ... Why is it that Black Orc Blockers don't have Thick Skull?
... and while we are talking about skills, is the skill Shadowing any good for Dwarves? Could someone enlightened me on the subject?

Hi nthomas, glad to have you here at IP. Shadowing isn't a good idea on a dwarf. when you leave a shadowing players tackle zone, you roll 2d6, add your MA, then subtract the shadowing player's MA.If the total result is 7 or less, you get shadowed. So the skill is naturally more effective on faster players The dodgy gitz jumping out of your tackle zone will almost certainly be faster than your shadowing dwarf, so unfortunately you wont see a lot of success with shadowing. Sadly, there aren't a ton of cool utility skills for the dwarfs, But I love 'em anyway

Thank you so much, that helps a lot and explains some of my frustrations. Whole point is I really, really hate being passed over by almost every race. To the point where I have even been experimenting with the Pass Block skill in combination with Shadowing to kinda make corner backs to further build on the Block and Tackle skills. Any suggestions on how to at least make a person think twice before simply passing directly over your line?

I am no expect on dwarfs in fairness - but I would suggest defending in two lines against speedy passing teams. Perhaps 7 in the front line to do some bashing and 4 at the back to mark anyone breaking through, and make them take some dodge rolls.
Of course, the usual way for dwarfs to win is to kick, force opponents into a quick score, score yourself in the first half, then spend all the second half with the ball, scoring at the end of the game. You can do this almost as well if you receive - spend all first half scoring, then force a quick score in the second half, etc...
So the trick to dwarf defence is a possession offence!
