By now you guys should know what you're doing but here is a recap. Your Admins for Chaos are Mr Manco, any questions PM me.
Arranging your game
You must post your availability by Friday 23:00 GMT.
You need to specifically list the times you are available, not just say "hey buddy, when can you play?" or "hey, catch you on steam sometime". Saying these things are fine... but it won't count as posting your availability
List the times you can begin your game, something like this:
Any evening except Friday, 21:00 to 23:00 GMT
Monday or Wednesday 11:00 GMT
Sunday 09:00 to 14:00 GMT
[EDIT - I should point out that if your opponent posts his availability first, you spot a time you like, and arrange the game... there is then no need to post availability]
Your game was not played?
The week will be rolled late Tuesday evening- if any matches are still unplayed you will get an admin result. These rules will be followed - first one that fits-
-Did one coach not post available times by the deadline? 2-0 to the coach who posted availability.
-Did one coach fail to honour an arrangement to play? 2-0 to the other coach.
-Has one coach posted availability that was far too low? (Admins to decide) 2-0 to the other coach.
-Did both coaches fail to post availability by the deadline? 0-0
-Did both coaches fail to honour agreements to play? 0-0
-Otherwise... it's a good-boy draw. 1-1
Admins reserve the right to alter this in exceptional circumstances...
Extended inducements
This catches many people out - make sure you read about them!
ziggyny.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/blood-bowl-inducements.html
Most importantly, this means wizards recharge and can be used again late in the game... BUT... this is overpowered and is NOT allowed at Iron Phoenix. You may not use your wizard a second time... (feel free to fireball an unused corner of the pitch so you don't keep being tempted however...)
Disconnects
Bah. Why can't we save the game, eh?
Coaches need to decide between themselves what is fair here. Your options are:
-Letting the Cyanide result stand.(All injuries and SPP will be kept)
-An admin result. (If may be that someone was winning 3-0 on T15 and then lost connection, and Cyanide has the score at 3-5 now. Coaches can agree a fair result is 3-0)
-Replay the game. You will need to get a reset, so contact an admin.
-Wipe the previous game from your mind - it never happened! Bear in mind this can be very frustrating if the second game goes worse than the first...
If you can't agree, the admins will decide what is fairest.
In the event of an admin result, then any injuries and SPP gained will be wiped out. Instead you will receive a MVP and the SPP for TDs you have been awarded will be allocated randomly by Cyanide.
However - if this means you have avoided a very serious injury/death via this disconnection (either party) then the admin team may insist that the player in question is fired.
Quitting
Obviously I am not talking about family emergencies here, I am talking about quitting Auld World style!
At Iron Phoenix, you are allowed to quit once per season.
Please follow this procedure:
- Only quit at the start of your own turn. (I am sure we have all been in Auld World and someone quits as your guy runs into the end-zone...)
- Inform your opponent first.
- Wait for him to acknowledge.
You are strongly encouraged to not quit at all though.
Play the game! Your opponent has set aside some time out of his busy schedule... You can still play to pick up some SPP, or just to avoid as much damage as possible.
Bugs
Should you end up with 12 players on the pitch, you MUST nominate one to be out of the game. Move him into your own end-zone if possible. It is not OK for your opponent to block him
If you are not set up, and your opponent is setting up - do not select any players (this includes just mousing over them). If you do, and your opponent finishes setting up, it can lead to all sorts of frustration - players disappearing then appearing randomly at kick off, etc. Following this simple rule stops these bugs completely.
Behaviour
Everyone likes to whine about their dice. But please post your tales of woe on the boards after the game. Everyone loves a good tale of a Nuffling, particularly when they are not on the receiving end...
But remember, that it is not your opponents fault that he has diced you off the pitch, and take your losses with good grace. It won't be long before the tables are turned.
Sadly, several people have been banned for abusive chat in the Iron Phoenix league. If screenshots are sent to the admins with chat judged abusive, the villain will be banned, without second chances given.
Who makes the play-offs?
There are 1 Group of 10 this season. Top 4 of the Group will make the Playoffs.
Ties are decided on head to head record and then on TD differential. And then by a coin toss!
Make sure you understand how overtime works before playing a play-off game!
Good luck to all Chaos Cup coaches, and may Nuffle be with you!
