14 Things (Jounisii, Chaos) vs Exit... (Havol, Necromantic)
T1Now that is a seriously ropey Blitz!
I know you are keen to get clawing the chaos warriors, particularly that niggled one, but... the ball is not picked up. And it is a frenzy block, if you don't roll a Yellow, or get a double skulls (.25 chance) you will have to take a -2D block. And the ball is not yet picked up!
But you get away with it.
But then try and dodge away with AG3 and fail. It's a 10% chance of a turnover. (with the ball not picked up). He is only next to a beastman with no Tackle, and you have Blodge. Ag3 and Dodge is emergencies only.
Especially with the ball not picked up
Your wolf approached from the wrong side. He needs to go round the back and force the CW into your half (second block is now 1D). Then it is even easier to foul him with a zombie.
Or even better (as the ball is not picked up) you could use your MB Wight to do the Blitz - you will find it is not that much worse than Claw/No MB, even against AV9 - and it is as safe as you can get.
You could easily have lost the game there. Fortunately, Jounisii can't pick up the ball.
T4
What is the ghoul with the ball doing out of the pocket? On defence there, I would have risked the CW dodging clear (Dodge with AG3 is also OK for defence - you can risk it for a chance to pop the ball free)
However Jounisii decides not to go for it anyway, and defends quite conservatively. Perhaps I know nothing...
T6Very interesting decision - should you stall here for one more turn? Sure he might pop the ball free, but he is not going to get very far. You should be able to grab the ball back and score if he does. Scoring on T7 gives Chaos very little chance of scoring. T6 is still very difficult... I know some coaches would stall in this situation and others that would score. I think I am in the latter camp, I am confident in my anti quick score defence against slowish teams.
T6 Defence KO setup is all wrong. You set up centrally, allowing his players to charge full steam down a flank. Not when the main consideration is stopping the quick score. Try
X X X
Slow him up and stop him getting through, then Blitz anyone who does. Maintain this double screen or similar, and he won't score without some Hudd dice.
T7Your Blitz here is very important, but you use it to take out a beastman who wasn't really doing very much, and it left wolfy out of position...
Jounisii thought for about 0.5s before Blitzing the lone Zombie in the middle. The last thing you want to allow in this situation is a nice central cage deep in your own half. Impossible to defend against, 1-1
T10Minor thing - The AG5 Blitz is marginal here. You are needing a chain of dodges, a 1D block that needs a Yellow, a decent bounce, a pickup in traffic with AG3. I think its a tall order.
Be patient and keep the pressure on, I think the Beastman next to the Zombie in the centre is an inviting target - Knock him down and get some pressure on the BC.
T14
You try the same move again, this time with no one looking in position to pick it up. Wait until someone else can knock the ball carrier down - the Ghoul is for picking up the ball and racing off to safety.
T17This could have been where you won the game. It looks at first glance that you have loads of pressure on the ball, but you have too many enemy in contact with you. Everyone gets blocked away, and Jounisii ends up with a straightforward TD.
The AG5 ghoul moved away to get an assist on a block that pushed one of those beasts next to your guys. Ultimately, this just gave him an extra block.
I think you have two moves here.
A risky surf with the AG5 Ghoul (1D). If it works, you have blown a massive hole in Jounisii's cage. It is a .89 with reroll. (Similar needed for the in traffic dodges needed too I suppose)
More conservative is just to pop the ghoul right in front of the ball carrier. No one but the BC can hit him there. (Obv he will be blitzed away, but if the Blitz has to be there, Jounisii can't choose his spot, so he can get many more 2D blocks)
Game over...
Finally... in general, more fouling. Deal with the Mino by parking a zombie or a blodger next to him. Zombies are great for these roles!
And you didn't play bad - it's just that Jounisii is awesome and NEVER makes any mistakes.
It will be interesting to hear if he agrees with what I said, or has anything to add.
