Bang a gong, we are on!
Welcome to season 9 of the Iron Phoenix Bronze Shield League. Some familiar faces grace the pitch again, as well as some new contenders, but reputation means nothing here. Let’s see who can prove they have what it takes to take the shield home in season 9.
30 teams have squared up to the plate. After 5 match days in the group stages, we’ll have our final 16 (top 3 from each div. plus the best 4th placed team from across the competition) who’ll move into sudden death playoffs where one coach will emerge victorious.
The winner of each match is responsible for uploading their game to Blood Bowl Manager. In case of a tie, the home team uploads to:
IP Bronze S9 Div 5
Password is 123.
Use each match day thread to organise your games. For everyone’s convenience, please post your full availabilities as early as possible, and all times in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
Post match banter and results also belong here – your administrators (Deano and Comfort) will refer to the activity in this forum for managing issues like game disconnects, validating matches, and determining results in cases where a game hasn’t been played before the match day rolls.
The week will roll each Wednesday at midnight, GMT. This week will be a few days longer than normal due to technical difficulties - thanks for your patience!
Here are this week’s match ups:
Tencoin (halfling – 870tv) vs Ren Hoek (khorne – 1310tv)
The hardest thing Tencoin will have to do all season is work out how to spend all his inducement money! Masterchef and the Fullbelly clan have gotten all their silverware polished, and are ready for their next course. Apparently no one told them that THEY are on the menu, and that Ren’s invited his team to MD1 not to play, but to kick their season off with a dinner party where fresh Hobbit sashimi is being served on a you-catch-it-you-eat-it basis.
Parrigan Niall (zombie – 1210tv) vs Legchewer (orc – 1290tv)
Sorry, Legchewer, but you can’t NOT cheer for the Yoricks… Parrigan’s all zombie team (yes, I know there are a couple of suspiciously big ones mixed in there) once again grace the pitches of Iron Phoenix, and are ready to wreck some mofos. And with Legchewer’s str boosted black orc sitting this game out, the Yoricks are looking to capitalise, taking this chance to get an early season victory under their belt.
0nst4r (lizardmen – 1540tv) vs Smakapotomus (chaos – 1260tv)
Its not often Chaos teams find themselves out-muscled… unless of course they are coming up against Lizardmen. 0nst4r’s worked hard in the open to get his team ready for Bronze, and has gotten his team into good shape for the start of the season. However, Smak’s got an ace or two up his sleeve – his tackle piece enables him to play everyone’s favourite game when versing lizards (skink hunting), and clever use of his 280k inducements could provide him with the edge he needs to balance the scales.
