Am struggling, +1 str is obviously nice, but does it need it? Claw is going to be great at opening tin cans later. Block is always solid, but I've been advised just get juggernaught later. What would you take?

But the ST+1 makes him a good stand-alone fighter, even vs. opponents big-guys...

Av8 is to much of a risk to take ST6 I reckon in particular Minotaurs have a very real chance at taking him out early on. Personnally I would take Block but Claw is just as solid if you get Juggs later on but he will not be defended from block remember. Up to you of course just my thoughts. If this had of been an ogre id say take ST6 all day

BLOCK
You don't want to be wasting 1 in 6 blitzes with Claw/Juggernaut (on the turns a blitz is even feasible), and you really don't want him making unskilled 2d blocks, ST6 or not. Block has great synergy with the tail and wont hog all the casualty SPP from blitzing.
ST+ just isn't useful often enough to justify 210K, imho
His biggest problem is reliability. Block will fix that

To play devils ad - there is a serious reason to consider 6ST.. break tackle. bored with the bash teams bullying your poor rats into suffering yet another 2-1 grind? no longer!! imagine an ag6 st6 wardancer with frenzy. 2+ wild animal, 3+ into 3 tacklezones & even vs 4 guards you'd still be guaranteed 1 2d block with several gutters standing by to pounce... you've reached a real junction. you can either go the roadblock route (block/stand firm/tail/guard = awesome traffic control) or you can take the 'khorne blood thirster route' where he becomes your main blitzing threat & (even if not used) the threat would always affect your opponents approach. couple this with some guard/mb storms & a couple of gutter ball sackers & you've got yourself 1 serious team. either that or they'll all die horribly, but the dream is there!!

I'd take block. It's the best skill on a big guy imo useful on offence and defence.

I've changed my mind about considering claws. Just take block it will save you more times than you'll care to remember on both offence and defence.
There is another option that nobody has suggested but the road block that you could make by putting tentacles on him. I wouldn't do it but I use the Rogre as a blitzer more often than not.

I've got some time before I'm playing again, so I'll keep mulling it over
