Well, we've made it. Some of us have certainly seen better days. Some of us can't wait to put the season and all its misery behind us. For the rest, this is where we look to the other Group and see who our potential matchup might be. Do we get the honor of stopping that fancy MA10 Wardancer? How about that ST5 Claw/MB Blitzer? Yeah, neither prospect strikes me as terribly promising, wither
At any rate, the draw is what it is and we must finish out the season. Who knows, maybe you can put a dent in the other team to make sure they have a tougher time in the playoffs than they normally would have?
THE MATCHES
GROUP 1:
Neorromanticos v Gilgameshi Gobbos Inc.
Hirumazeo v RTSD
A little claw anyone?! This has been a highly anticipated match of mine since the start of the season. It's a real shame that Kane will miss this one. Both teams are looking fairly safe to enter the playoffs. The real question is who's going to get in with most of their team intact?
PREDICTION:
Yes, the Gobbos will get just under 200k in induce, but I think they would much rather have Kane in the lineup. Still boasting a fairly lethal team, I think those Golems for the Necro are in trouble. But all that being said, I think Hirumazeo is just too tough and is not missing any key pieces to his team. 2-1 for Neorromanticos.
MinMax Machine v Norbert Fish and Co.
Comfort v Shaun
Maybe the biggest casualty of this season, Norbert Fish and Co. look to put an end to this horrible start. One quick look at this team and one can tell they had a serious run-in with the Neorromanticos. Down, but not out, Norbert Fish looks to rally his men and end the season strong.
Coach Comfort and his champion Machine really need this win if they are to advance to the knockout round. Desperatley needing a win, the Machine could catapult all the way into a tie for 3rd place. Wouldn't that be special??
PREDICTION:
2-1 in a straight-up victory for the Machine. The fishermen lost too many skilled players to overcome the Machine's strength. Comfort will do his part, but how about the rest of the coaches if he's to have a legit shot at the playoffs?
Khem in your Face v Valerian's Vegans
Deano v Insidious
Due to Deano dropping, the win will be awarded to Insidious.
14 Things to do with Orcs v The Waldos
Jounisii v TRS
The 14's were built specifically for this task... Let's see how they fare with the real thing Already ensured a top three spot into the playoffs, what will motivate Jounisii more than just smashing apart the hated greenskins? The Waldos, on the other hand, are looking to maintain their position in the standings after this match. They can feel the absurdly stinky lizard breath down their back. How will they respond against one of the better coaches around??
PREDICTION:
2-1 win for the 14's. Down a few key players, the Waldos will struggle to match up properly. They'll be forced into a quick score, and then get ground by the chaos advance.
GROUP 2:
Gorland Harbingers v Purple Doom Skull
Gorbag v Parrigan
If Coach Gorbag can take at least one thing away from this season, it's that his team is leaner than ever A few dead ghouls and some Zombies will do that...
It's been rumored that this may be the last anyone sees of the PDS after this season. It's been said they will take the long ride into the sunset... This pundit thinks time will tell and we'll see them around again
PREDICTION:
1-1 draw! This match will be closer than the score will suggest. I predict the Harbingers to regain the form that led to their lone victory. In this one, however, all that they'll manage is their lone draw for the season.
Feygrim Executioners v Worri Yallock Miners
Hudd v CJ
Coach Hudd and the Executioners boast the best record in the league and look to lock up the No. 1 spot in the playoffs. In their way is possibly the worst matchup. Bad (or good, depending on your side of the fence) thing that this match came so late in the season that it would have little impact on the playoffs. Jester and the Miners also look to lay this season to bed. 16 more turns, Jester... you're almost there
PREDICTION:
Anyone here think a bunch of MA4/5 dorfs will catch Jedore and make her pay? Yeah, me neither... 3-1 for the Executioners in a speed-fest. Only question for Jester is how many of those frail woodies can he make stay down?!
Moar Dakka! v Exit...Stage Left
Wenteros v Havol
Already having wrapped up spots in the post season, each of these teams will most-likely be looking to cause as much damage as possible. Wenteros will give up slight inducements, but they likely won't make much of a difference. Certainly losing an experienced blitzer will take its toll for the greenskins, but for it to make enough of a difference on the scoreboard, we will have to wait for the match.
PREDICTION:
1-1 draw. So long as the wolves do not make shreds of the greenskin armor, or the remaining three blitzers don't remove player after player, then I see this match as fairly pedestrian. Nothing to see here... keep the line moving... Yeah, that sort of thing.
Blood & Snot v The House
Mercy v ThreeClubs
This apparently wasn't the season to be coaching Undead. Even if every other player on your roster has a +ST boost Rest assured that these freaks will be back for another season. This time, they vow to take even more Steroids...
Blood & Snot look to better their playoff seeding. Boasting a solid roster, they appear to have no weakness. Coach ThreeClubs will also look to put a stamp of approval on the last match.
PREDICTION:
Given that Mercy already has a playoff spot, don't look for them to tussle too much with these stat-boosted freaks. I see this going down as a 1-1 draw.
That's all I have this week, gentlemen. Please upload your matches and we'll see you in the playoffs!!
