My Tin team just got the crap knocked out of them in their QF match, lost a strip ball WD to -AG, and generally had a bad day. But wait, there's good news. I have 3 guard linos, one of whom also has dodge. Another guard lino just rolled 5+5 and I need advice. I can see a case for +MA, because I love speed, but I'm not sure that's really helpful on this piece. I can also see a case for MB, but without any protection that would paint a huge target on his back. I could also just skip the fancy roll and just take dodge. These guys will be moving to Bronze next season, but I plan to forgo the Open matches and send them straight into the fire. Any awesome advice/suggestions?

Woodies' TV can spiral up very quickly. I'm sure you're aware. Selecting a dub roll or taking the stat boost will not help in this. An MA8, AG4 guard piece is handy. He can position or reposition almost anywhere. MB will give him a little bite to aid in levelling up a bit faster. But it still offers no protection and could lead you to using RR's faster. Dodge offers protection and is never a bad idea (until you play cheating dorfs, that is ) I say dodge with +MA coming in a close second.

I'd think about fend or dodge personally and ignore the dub. Getting developed woodies to stay under 1550 is tricky...

+MA would be nice, but getting him to blodge would take a long time. Ie he would die before that. Same with MB. Fend is a late choice for elves, they can disengage properly enough. Dodge is nice for mobility, mobile wussie guards are golden. SS too is always an option for guarding players. But... I would actually go with block. That would help your hitting game and probably earn that next level earlier as you actually could use him for early turn hits. This player's role was defined with that guard. Now, blodge him asap and after that you can think about fancy stuff (ok +AG or +ST would be nice but we're not talking about that).

If you have Guard and no other skills, I'd ignore the double and take block. Jounisii covered the reasoning well. (Better than I would have, in fact!)
