2-0 to pimpslap in a relatively comfortable win. I say relatively as Jester made four or five plays that made me go "he can't try...he's going to...oh shit" and two of them worked magnificently, one a huge risk that paid off, and one a great play by a great coach that caught me unawares. The wiz stopped a defensive TD after I managed to patiently work the ball loose on his drive, and although a foul left me a player down early, AV7 soon caught up with poor jester and the numbers game prevailed. By the end jester was struggling along with 2-4 players for most of the second half, two dead and apoc burned on another guy, and I was slowly grinding my way through to a comfortable (ish) win.
Amusing points for the game including Jester's rookie stormvermin being the most tenacious bastard ever (5v1, on the sidelines, vs developed blockers, and it took 13 dice to push him off the sidelines before he finally left my ball carrier alone, as well as pulling three crazy dodges to mark him for three turns despite being massively outnumbered...me only making two blocks all game without block skill, both of which resulted in double both down results... My guard/MB "star" blitzer spending the seventh game in a row in the KO/injury box before turn 4...that scrub is starting to look like a sacking, and I would have fired his ass if it wasnt for the fact his guard let me get in the one crucial blow I needed to strip the ball from jester early before he took a 12 turn, 4 kickoff KO nap ...and jester being proven right for taking pro on a linerat, as he managed to pull of some stuff a gutter runner would look at and go "nah..." including a five dodge, 2 gfi blitz to get a 1D on my blodger...which came up pow and ALMOST gave jester the space he needed to secure the ball at 1-0. Sadly, that's where his luck ran out.
Against most coaches I'd have been able to score three, maybe even four, by the second half, when it was 10v4...but frankly the way jester moved and positioned it felt more like 10 v 8, and I was never comfortable enough to really grab the game by the neck and squeeze out the extra spp, but against a coach of jester's calibre I'll take a 2-0 win with no serious damage any day oft he week.
Well played sir, a pleasure as always, and thanks for your kind words. I've been working my ass off on my defence, and although every now and again it goes horribly wrong (Hi Havol!) I can definitely see improvement, and it's due to great coaches like we have here giving me the tips and experienece I need. Well played sir. Sorry for the deaths!
