When it rains it pours.
The match started in miserable conditions since a heavy thunderstorm ravaged over the field. The Elves were more content in these conditions but the Orcs usually do not show much interest towards the ball anyway. The All-Stars ended their first attacking turn with a lineman failing a block but since the ball was safe at the backfield they let the beasts coming. They must work with pretty good seers because the Expendables performed probably the worst half of the decade. Quadskulls are not easy to get but the Orc Blitzers managed to get two of those within a couple of turns. There was at least one more double skulls and some bothdowns during Black Orc hits so it was a miracle that after turn 7 they had still chance to stop the Woodies' scoring attempt. It was not an easy task and failed flat as expected.
Second half the orcs tried to take risks and lure the elves deep just to exploit their backrank weakness and score quickly to have a chance for the winning TD. The trick did not work as expected since the Orc Passer accidentally positioned himself just one yard too upfield and the lightning fast WE Catcher easily marked him. A shaky cage was errected but a Wardancer leaped into it with style and knocked off the carrier. After some insanely furious turns the Expendables managed to get back the plaything and tried to move upfield. Luckily for them by this time Elven armor started to crack more and more and among many Linemen the All-Stars also lost one of their precious Wardancers. Still the other could mark the Blitzer with the ball but his green comrades managed to bring down the slippery guy and even pushed the striker a little more. With that move the equilazer was within 3 GFIs and amazingly the Blitzer only failed one of those but the last RR was reserved for just this kind of occasion.
The Expendables made the tie out of a very deep hole still their coach was not entirely happy. During the post-game press conference he made an unusually long statement which we will quote here in full form: Waaaaaaagh!!!
Brumshack Expendables (Csonti) - Fleetfooted All-Stars (Cerumol) 1 - 1

Soup (JJWF) GMT Vs White Firebirds (Goodpass) Group E day 3 A fast TD by the High Elves and a slow one by the Dwarves, so 1-1 at half time. Starting with more players and the High Elves reluctant to stand up the second half was mostly stalling without action. Those turns went fast. Score at end of match 2-1 for Soup, ooh boy those Elves are cooked. Seems the High Elves are now only a theoretical candidate for the WC. Always a difficult moment for a coach, to play the end of the season as cannon fodder. Even more for a coach used to the NAF with it's many concedes. So I am facing a real challenge, investing time for a lost cause, lets name it an uphill battle. Goodpass

Thermal Riders (Ozone) Vs Fet*sh Forever CLub (Hyeronymus) Liz started attacking, and as always, the sauri forgot to wear their armor. They were quickly outbashed and it ended up with one saurus badly hurt and another one with -AV. They were still slowly progressing towards the Elven TD line though. Turn 6, they were going for the TD, ball protected by the big Krox and far from the elevs, so attempted a 2D block first...a nice quad skull cooled them a bit, and the darkies were able to get by the ball and stop the skinks just before the TD line. Second half started on 0-0 with 3 liz out (one skink was KO'd too) and the darkies attacking. They decided to go there slowly, but eventually were forced to goal on turn 12 by the sauri pressure. Next kick-off was incredibly caught by Kroxigor MacDaddy, who decided to run for it....for only 2 turns, as after that he seemed to forget what he was doing on the field.. Ended up on 1-0 for the DE...not to mention a quick murder of a skink just before the end!
Sauri are for the third time diminished for the rest of the tournament. Team is ruined and is attempting to get a hospital to sponsor his team.
Coach took a DNA sample from the sauri in order to prove that they are half-sauri/half-woodies. Lab results are expected in two weeks!

Bullet Club vs Sin City Squeakers was a rough match for both teams in group F. Without a Rat Ogre or even a second Storm Vermin, the Skaven knew that the tar was going to get beaten out of them, and it was! Thanks to some quick thinking on Goku's part and some nice dodging from his rats, however, the Skaven managed to sneak in a second touch down while the orcs tripped on their giant rat-kicking feet. GG Oni. The score was 2-1 and the victory goes to the Squeakers.

Pansies stalled a 1-0 win against Bono's EMOs. The roster is getting thin tho...

Soup vs Church of Punch 3-0
No-one was left feeling sorry for the dwarfs after this game. After suffering a series of deaths, they finally decided to let out all their pent-up rage on Mercy Flush's unfortunate orcs. Coupled with the opposing coach's inability to make even the simplest of rolls, not even the mentally deficient dwarven coach's attempts to throw the game by making a totally unnecessary dodge with a Troll Slayer could sway the tide due to a series of lucky injury dice and a shortage of players on the orc side of the pitch making the dwarfs next to impossible to defend against.
Better lucky than good right?

Thermal Riders (Ozone) GMT+1Vs White Firebirds (Goodpass) gmt+1 Group E WCQ A Blizzard, gave the Lizards an edge on paper, as the running game is not hindered by it and those Elves can't do their miracle long passes, we do not play on paper tough. Being bashed around last matches both teams had learned how to stomp the hard way, and they needed some rookies to show their best to fill the ranks. This became a brutal match and those Lizards made one of the elves a good elf, whohaha, the only good elf is a dead elf, whohaha. Apart from hitting skulls the coaches Ozone and Goodpass saw their teams fail time after time. It's because those Elves have such a high agility that they made some TD's. The first win for the White Firebirds 0-3, unless you do a bodycount. The turns those Skinks and Sauruses did not hit the floor or fail a pick-up coach Ozone directed them well and showed skill in their deployment. Just one more match and the season is over. Goodpass

1 - 1 between the Bullet Club and the Ugly Tryhards. Another rough match for da Orks, with a lot of injuries early on, but they managed to hold off the dwarves long enough to pull out a tie.

Flower Power Generation v Fleetfooted All-Stars
Lift Airwalk narrowed his eyes. He know something was wrong. This was the world cup and the pressure he felt from his family was building. His confidence had got him into the All-Stars, but now he was starting to wonder, was this just due to his father’s links with the club? High things are expected from the young catcher and he talked the talk. Promises were made, but they are not being kept. Three games in and he managed just the one paltry touchdown – for the All-Stars solitary catcher this was not in the script – not even a single catch. He could hear the whispers around him – all he has achieved was being injured three times, and rumours were building that the coach was looking at replacements already. This was it, this was his moment, a focus came over him as he stared out upon the field – the flower pickers were already out there dancing around, looking at him, pointing, whispering. However this just led to steel in his mind. Discussions had taken place with his coach and agreements were in place. Yes, he will be away from the scrum and instead his role was to float around the edges and make the most of any opportunities.
However a rush of blood happened – he was heading to the left flank ready to be the wide receiver, but then the crowd got into his head. Flashes of his dreams arrived and he made his way to the backfield – he set up ready to take the ball into his hands and just dance through the whole field. Is this not where he has gone wrong all tournament? Before long his fellow All-Stars had moved up and created a space around the ball for him to collect. Perhaps today things will be different for once. Not much of gap opened up though – true Toadstool the weirdly agile wardancer had been taken off the pitch, but the All-Stars ran into a dead end and no way through. Instead the instructions came through to switch sides which they did, but these elves were just as fast – there was no escape and the pressure came. The Flower Power elves arrived and got up in the All-Stars face while Lift could just hang back and hope the defensive lines held. It looked like they were just about holding, but then a moment of madness. Lift became impatient and stepped forward and before he knew it the blitz came upon him. However, his agile came to the surface and simply dodged away from the lunging attacker and the Lift and his teammates shifted first to the left and then back round to the right and managing to get downfield – a whole half holding onto the ball. Lift was already imaging the headlines, how he was the true star of the All-Stars. That was before team captain Myla Freshfeet yelled at him snapping him out of it and back to the game and it was simple enough to run it in for his TD. Lifts thoughts already turned to the specialised training he can get involved in next week. He knew the drill – he was expected to score at least two before he could join the hidden sessions which Little Gerafell already attends. With the halftime break approaching Lift decided enough was enough and stepped back from the play ready for his break.
Second half and Lift felt he had earned his wages this week, so set up on the left as agreed for once being accompanied by Dillon Zarka his enforcer / protector (all depends on your point of view). Before long the two of them pushed upfield. Lift wondered, was this the beginning of a beautiful bromance? They were two of the pretty boys of the team after all, but Dillon just had not shown the flair that Lift has. Perhaps he has potential and Lift decided to keep a small distance…for now anyway. “Wait Here”. The daydream was over once again while Dillon ran off into the fray. “The ball is heading your way, stay focused Lift”. And with that he was gone. What was happening? Over in the scrum he could see Myla Freshfeet running round the Flower Powers line and all of a sudden the ball was bouncing around the scrum if elves. Eventually it bounced out and Little Gerafell ran up, grabbed it and was sprinting towards Lift. Another chance for glory was approaching. Little Gerafell ran to him and Lift was ready to receive the ball and run in his second TD of the game. But instead Little simply gave him a wink instead and ran past him – no need to worry though as with a chuckle he stopped turned round and threw the ball to Lift with a grin and told Lift to run it in. Lift did need to be told twice and happily grabbed his second TD.
Lift lined up once again along with Dillon and as the ball was received the Flower Power moved up the right.Just the one elf, Carnation was left back to hold the ball. Lift did not need to be told twice and full on sprint allowed him to get close to the makeshift thrower. He called out to Mylo Freshfeet who saw the chance, dodged through the line and stunned Carnation. Things were looking good, Lift knew a hatrick was on the cards and along with it the glory, the headlines, the parties and the….BANG. Before he knew what had happened a shoulder barge in the back and he went flying and hit the ground in a thump. “FOCUS LIFT” yelled Mylo. It was all too late though as the ball was quickly collected and passed upfield by Geranium. It looked like a score and Lift knew who would be getting the blame for this one. All he could do was get up and move into space, but then he looked around. He was not sure what had happened, but what he did know was that Mylo was now standing midfield with the ball in his hands. He was clearly saved from the shame and Mylo ran up towards him and gave him that wink again – why does he keep winking at me? Before long Lift saw Mylo run past him saying “This one IS mine” and it was 3-0.
Another setup and again Lift moved upfield waiting for the ball to come loose and he could get his third triumphant TD. He kept waiting and waiting and waiting. Then it was all over. No hat-trick today, but a solid 3-0 win and for once Lift had made a real difference. Walking off he was looking to Mylo for the praise he surely deserved, but instead he turned to Lift and simply said “Good night Lift. Good work. Sleep well. We’ll most likely kill you in the morning” and off he went with a deep-throated laugh and Lift was left with the result he was looking for, but a deeply unsettling feeling deep within him.

Ugly Tryhards (Dwarves) 2-2 Sin City Squeakers (Rats)
After the skaven scored first on turn 2 it looked like a a classic 2-1 pummeling was coming (despite an injured dwarf on the 2nd block of the game!). A poorly chosen wizard by the rats had the ending look inevitable. But a blitz pushed things to a likely draw. A final T16 riot gave the skaven the chance for an easy two turner TD but they failed to take advantage. A victory in spirit for the slow, deliberate, dwarven tide, sweeping the meager rats away.
