I'm firing all my normal levelled goblins so far as Side Step and Dive Tackle seem to be too circumstantial to be any real use. And so I roll 6,6 for a Goblin (Goblin Team) I am not taking Strength as I can see this to be a bad idea based on earlier posts here in this forum. So what should I pick? It's his first skill.

If you're going to bypass the str, my preference, in order, for a double roll on a gob is block, guard, sure-hands, dirty player, kick. Block will greatly increase their survivability, the other skills give you much needed utility. Surehands is lower on my priorities cos I usually try to hold out for a gob who's already got block to roll a second double, or have a gob with plus agi.
Its possible to toy with tackle/wrestle to make a stunty sacker, but I'd save that for your pogo who could leap in.

Gobbos need to keep their TV as low as possible to maximize their roster. Taking the +ST will bloat your tv. And even still, you'll have a hard time maximizing that player.
I suggest dirty player as your bribes are cheap and gobbos can't foul enough. Second on the list is block or wrestle. For surehands to be ideal, he already needs to have block.

Are you sure about the +ST ?
I may have counselled against taking +ST on a goblin on an orc team.. On an orc team you have so many better blitzing options, but on a goblin team, I think you can build your team around your ST3 goblin, with him as the ball carrier and blitzer.
Otherwise Block.

It is true that the +st is a bloat if you check some stat.
On the defense matter : Against an average st3 player, a normal goblin with block will get knocked off on a 30.6% proba (pow on 2 dice). A st3 goblin with no block will get KO on a 33% proba (pow or skull/pow on 1 die). No reroll considered.
On the attack matter, your st3 gob will get 2 dice blocks against st3 opponents with only 1 assist, instead of 2. But gobs imo shouldn't try to block without the block skill and you aren't usually trying to block everything on the field.
So, imo, block appears to be more useful than +str for less tv value.

I suggest Wrestle and if he gets a 2nd dub Tackle or Strip, I just can't help but want to 2d "up hill" block people... Call me crazy, but cage breaking Gobbos are to kool...heh

Wrestle is indeed a good choice from a ball hunter and if the opposition is heavy on block player.
For a ball carrier tho, block will be my choice. And surehand after that.
It all depends on your coaching style, I guess
