It's a bit broken. Building a team with random skills and nurturing them vs the next Rookie team who has 6 rrs and MORG/Next amazing star player seems unfair, or at least against the spirit of the random element. For me this league should be about unique builds and unusual plays, creating a team that can't stand up to a "normal" built team, but should play better than a fresh Rookie team. Basically the returning teams are getting a hard deal. So I have some suggestions, which would hopefully give the returning teams a better deal and incentive to keep "improving". Ban Star Players. They don't have random skills and so can be a game changer, (Goblins can play well with out any) Ban Potions Goes against the random, fixes problems the league has created. (The fun bit) TV Trimming Once the season has finished or your not in the play off's you can fire any player which is level 5 or above. I also thought doubles on skills could be rolled twice, then the Coach could pick his/her best choice. Would probably need to start the league over tho , but would be a benefit to developing teams. Just some ideas running around feel free to ridicule/completely destroy. Gorg.

Maybe like with cripple cup, make two divisions: one for rookies and one for returning teams? This might help solve the other issues of massive tv gap going the other way... The last season I played, my poor underworld with average level 1.5 players were up against stat boosted monsters with 2-3 more skills than them each. 700-800 tv gap couldn't be mitigated even with morg who would just get marked out of the game while the rest of my team were destroyed. More fun imo when things are more even.

I am one of the ones who has a very high TV team. But I seem to get beat by rookie teams all the time. Since most of my TV is cemented in orc-kickers and Dodgeing and pass blocking Black orcs... so the TV is of course a bit 'unfair' and not always the advantage it would seem to be. I kind of like Gorgraels thought... don't know if I would vote for it though. I like to keep the rules as uncomplicated as possible.
The best plan would of course be to have two leagues, based on TV. But for that we would need more coaches.

As much as I would like to make some restrictions on inducements, that's not really fair. There are some teams (like mine or Weresquid's) that are skilled good enough, so even with all the inducements rookie teams have a hard time trying to win.

Being the rookie team that has used 2 minos before and has lost before, I have the following to say:
I almost didn't return because rookie teams taking on high TV teams is ridiculous. I say this from experience and not opinion. I remember playing the wood elf team that had gave mw 1 million in inducements. That team had 4 players that can score in one turn versus my team that at the time had one CW with +1 AG. I played my best die rolling game. It was 1-1 by the 16th turn. And then he scored on the last turn and won and I couldnt do anything about it. The rats will likely do the same to my chaos team this season with their gutter runners. Inducements IMO are actually not enough.
I've never used the extended inducements like the potions. But to ban star players is silly. Low TV teams need them. They get mixed results at best.
Having never been on the other side of the coin its admittedly easier for me to say this. That being said, I hope you understand this is where my point of view comes from.
