You have a point Coach Jester, that elves lack access to strength skills while some other races have more access to these skills. And for next season again I will consider the rules on maximum players for some races. (I will make a new poll.)
But I think you are a bit off on their being NO point in playing anything but amazons or humans. Winning is of course part of the game, but with no rerolls and no apo's, Nuffle is a huge part of The Crippled Cup. One or 2 unlucky rolls can decide a whole match. It is good that you very much want to fight to win, but if you make winning your prime objective in The Crippled Cup, chances are you'll not have a great/fun time.
It can of course happend that you tire of a team, I did with my dark elves. I suggest you keep your elf team and see the league as a fun distraction. You KNOW that elf teams can score even with only 3 players on the pitch.. you know how to play them... your time will come (if NUffle allows).

no its not that i want to win i just dont like to see a die after one season and a team full of loners with no names i give them sucks to me i know that zonz and norse have just as much chance to survive as an elf team but they can help their chances by taking out the other team before they get hurt and as there is no starting limit on teams you can start with 16 players with norse zon or human and get to name them (thats the cool part) with elf and DE all cash is spent to just get 12 players and as you then can get more than 12 you end up with loners
playing with loners is what makes me lose interest i am not about the win i am about the stats i like to have the top thrower, or runner on the BBM stats thats what i check out on the forums, lol i dont think i could even tell you what place any my teams are at on the ladder
and yes i once won a game in last 4 turns with only 1 WE catcher vs 8 orcs (just kept picking ball up and trowing down field only to have him fail to pick up so got it again and scored the winner) was all luck and nuffle rewards crazy risk moves, hell i would rather lose a game but get to do that again in the same game any day
loners just dont let me keep the stats
oh and if you read last part of my other post you will see i want to redo so as to redo names and team name thats what is what i play for my Hansels and shatners in a HoF lol

I agree with Coach Jester on the max players rule to an extent. I think that all non-stunty teams should be held to the same player limit, no matter if that number is 12 or 16. Stunty teams should be allowed 16 (as they currently are) because as someone who has played ogres through 2 seasons, I know how fast you can burn through those stunties. It seems to me that without rerolls, amazons and norse in particular enjoy massive advantages in the early stages, and while AG4 is great, it doesn't cover for the fact that most elves lack block and dodge to start. Therefore, those elves will suffer a lot more knockdowns, and thus have greater attrition rates. And once the players on most non-elf teams start to cash in on their normal strength access players, that attrition will likely continue (if not get worse). Even when they have RRs and apoths, most elf teams cycle through players at high rate, so in this format an elf team limited to never have more than 12 players to start a season is virtually guaranteed to be carrying at least 3 loners (or at least stat busted players) by the end of the season. That's a lot of SPPs lost to loners, which means the elves will likely fall behind in their development. Anyway, that's my take. It doesn't seem like this would have a great deal of effect in Stretcher (since elves are so expensive anyway) but I think it could really put those teams at a disadvantage once they move on into Hospital. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm thinking of entering a high elf team into next season's Stretcher League. PN If you want to see a high elf team that manages well in the cripple cup then check out my team "Fangorn Fashionistas" over in UKBBL, and that is with only 12 players, the worst i have had in a season is two loners.

Secondly, there are no Norse teams in the UKBBl rules, but this isn't UKBBL and we can come up with our own rules, that is what this thread is for. This is the original home of the cripple isn't it ?

yes it is though not 100% sure but wobert was the one to come up with it and he went on to do at UKBB oh and back then you could have a chaos team (i still have it) but no players went the MB PO claw optin and it was fun... oh and we also had the rule no AV 9 players (and maybe no str 4+ players) ogres were the only team unbalance by this and had 3 ogres but still was not fair and so no one played them, oh and we replaced dead players when ever we wanted it all seemed to work ok but only did 3 or 4 seasons yeah and its teams like norse with so many players haveing normal access to strength rolls that can get MB and PO that make it unbalanced maybe they should not be allowed to have berserkers and werewolves but then do you say zonz cant have blitzers nor humans so i asked for more players for elf teams to give balance, but as only a few see this it wont get done so to beat it (as in the norse) i will just play humans or norse (who ever have the most MB PO options)and grind other norse back to balance for other teams and go easy on skaven and elf players as for the high elf team gratz, my DE team was also lucky (though is it really luck) got to the finals in season 1 but season 2 is when all the norse got MB, PO and Tackle and thats when you will see the problems show up, and as you say your HE dont face norse

My Dark Elves won their second season, even with 2 norse teams in the race. But their first season was awful. Nuffle is heavily involved and no matter what the rules may be, it can always be disaterous to play in The Crippled Cup.

I saw it work with the team restrictions, I think too much AV 9 goes against the spirit of the cup. The rules are not set in stone, that is what this thread is for The lower your team av the more balls you have on the pitch Ogres piling on to all those pointy eared gits is a sight to behold. And I plan on doing the same this season in UKBBL's cripple cup !

Your ogres always pile on, what you need are gobbos with dirty player helping those prone ogres on their way

Stunty transfer window question:
My pogo died in week 1: he's a stunty and he's not a secret weapon. Does this mean I can replace him during the stunty transfer window?

Stunty transfer window question: My pogo died in week 1: he's a stunty and he's not a secret weapon. Does this mean I can replace him during the stunty transfer window? I believe there was a post last season about this and the answer was yes Edit: Found it, first page of CC rules thread. "And the pogoer is not an illegal weapon and a team can have maximum 1 anyway, so the gobbo-team can replace that also if it has died. Hi Ren I play Wingsteel's Norse in the final tonight, so I wanted to say this now so in the event that I lose it doesn't sound (as much) like sour grapes. I want to say the winner of our match will be decided by skill and probably some luck, but I have serious concerns that the 1 Yeti and all linos Norse team threatens game balance and runs counter to the spirit of CC. Obviously Wing's team should be grandfathered in if new regulations are made. No offense is meant to Wingsteel, but I'm going to use his team as a model to demonstrate my point The CC bigwig(s) should implement some restriction on what and how many loners a team can induce. This isn't targeted specifically at Norse, but they are certainly the worst offender. If the roster limit for is 13 players (like for Norse), you should not be able to exceed that number with induced loners (which happened against me and others). Norse loners are about as good as any players you will find in CC, and having no fear of them getting hurt sends it over the top. When you can keep any perm-injured players deep in the bench, in place of loners who are actually better, injuries are not really a concern. Furthermore, if a starting roster contained no positionals, we should give serious consideration to banning inducing those for that team. The ability to induce Ulfs with block or Berserks or Zon blitzers, with no fear of them being injured and gimping the team in the future, doesn't fit with the spirit of Cripple Cup. Again I mean no offense to Wingsteel. If I had been clever enough to have thought of that team build I would be running it as well . If the build still exists, as is, next season of Stretcher I will probably be bringing it, because I want to win. With this build injuries don't matter, and that's not what Cripple Cup is about.
