Ok so i am big on the fluff sort of side of this great game as well so in the spirit of that i wanted to hear players opinions on deals in league games. Goblins in BB always make deals, be it to throw a game for profit or to bribe the other team to let them win (those cheating bastards)
so if your in a game and the other player asked to cut a deal would you? do you think deal cutting ok in a league? deals can be all kind of things and most of us have done one sort or another like hey you win just dont hit any more my guys hey you can score 2 just let me score 1 on this guy to level him up hey i will stand these (ABC) guys for you to hit if you dont hit these (XYZ) guys and so on
as there are no concedes allowed anymore will you stop hitting a defeated guy if he cuts a deal?
TBH I am for and against it, I am also looking for balance (not that you get that in BB) but i can see good reasons for it and bad ones too just want to hear feedback first before i go into both sides of this coin
and speaking of coins, should we really let a goblin ref handle the coin toss with a gold coin at stake?

In the right league yeah, I think this would be a fun concept to play with! I think it could add some wheeling and dealing to the table for those that want some fluff/fun within their season beyond just regular matches. That said, I think it'd have to be a separate league for like copper/silver/gold in the same way that BB1 had several offshoot branches/formats like the cripple cup or the random skill league etc. I think that people within normal matches have choices like 'I'm going to leave all my guys down and offer no blocks' and then the opponent can either score and let them all back up or they can keep stalling and start fouling because they are denying them blocks. That's part of the strategy of any lopsided or onesided match where you figure out what the best course of action is as the 'aggressor' or the one with the lead. I still have the x1 concede in Silver/Gold for instance because I feel there could easily be a week where you are outa town and can't arrange a match or a particular nasty matchup after losing a few guys that you might prefer not to step onto the field at all for, or a game that starts off fair but becomes so landslide-ish or tilts someone so hard that they literally go 'fuck it, have my mvp/cash i'm done' and essentially rage quit. We've all seen some of the emotional types So I like the 'everybody gets one!' style of play. No questions asked. You get one. After that 2 concedes in the same season and you sit out, not welcome back. If it continues in later seasons ban etc. So my vote, opinion wise anyways, is that it's a cool concept if money is changing hands, or if certain players are being singled out. I'll let you get x6 free hits if you foul player A from this team. ETC. But I think its official home would be in another offshoot league which we all know makes it trickier since it splits the player base. As neat a concept as it is, I'd hate to see it in the main x3 branch.

I'll put a word against it... Or at least suggest limiting the kind of deals allowable.
I suppose there's a spectrum of the type of deals possible. A gentlemens' agreement to stop murdering a team who's already staying down is one thing, but specifying particular players to be allowed to score unimpeded opens the door for abuse and is a step towards spp farming which I dislike. Vanity passes for 1 spp at a time is one thing (and sometimes comes with its own risks), but giving free levels to key players sounds kinda dirty to me, and not in the fun gobbo way. The mercenary system (bb1) which allowed hits on particular players to be made for incentives is a good example of a kind of fun 'deal' made across our whole community which could add flavour and fluff without destabilising the integrity of a competitive league.
My 2 cents, Comfort

No, never. Not doing everything you can to win the game you're in makes the whole endeavor pointless IMO. Sure, sometimes in a league you'll have other priorities like developing your team for later seasons, and that's basically unavoidable, but the incentives should always point strictly in the direction of playing the best game of BB you are capable of.
