The subject pretty much says it all. Who thinks a norse thrower is worth buying? And if you do think they are worth it, how would you prioritize buying one?

No.
Don't pass ever.
edit: Giving him leader will make him OK, but he'll just get reamed by a smart coach when you field him on defense.

I would always get a thrower. He is essentially a lineman with extra skill for 20k, which is not that terrible unless you care way too much about TV efficiency. And of course you don't want to pass all the time, but it's nice to have an extra option for just 20k. After all, which skills do you want to give to your ball carrier? Sure hands, kick-off return and that's about it, right? Getting pass and accurate after that is probably the best option.

I wouldn't actually take passing skills on him, except maybe Leader, but I agree with Tector that it's absolutely a good idea to have a Thrower to carry the ball with, so you can pass in an emergency.
Norse don't have any Catchers (I wouldn't ever take Catch on a runner), but that makes it all the more important to have Pass so you can save your team reroll for the catch if you do have to pass. It'll be unreliable at the best of times (3+,3+ is only a 71% chance even with a reroll on both) so it's not a play you ever *want* to make, but sometimes it's pass or nothing, and for that reason, every AG 3 team should at least have the option, IMO. I hate being completely locked out of a game and that happens less often if you can pass in a pinch without it being a complete hail mary. (And speaking of which, depending on your metagame Hail Mary Pass could be a viable line of development for defensive punting.)

(And speaking of which, depending on your metagame Hail Mary Pass could be a viable line of development for defensive punting.) Imo, Norses really need the thrower as a wild card. With av7, too often your cage could crumble hard time and you would need an escape move that the thrower can provide by passing to a dodge runner, for example. I used a thrower during a long time with sure-hand, accurate and strong arm. He was more than once the man of the match, pulling victories through hardship thanks to 2+ passes. But as any Norse, he ultimately got wasted one day. So I agree that any development after 3 or 4 skills is a bloat and I will advise to reboot with a new thrower. Also I agree that Catch is an useless skill for Norses. It also makes it too obvious for your opponent who to mark. A team reroll is really better as you can catch with any other linos. I don't see the point of Leader, as Norses could easily start with 3 rerolls and stay that way all their carrier. PS : (3+ pass, 3+ no skills) is actually 79% with a team reroll, because you can reroll twice each die. So it is way more reliable than a lot of people think (but of course always try to plan for any loose ball resulting from a failure)
