Several comments below. 1 I would add Igor to the list of banned inducements. Good pick up with the Igor. I'll add the rule now.

As another aside... do you think 'Alliance of Good' could legitimately recreate Tolkien's Fellowship of the Ring in its entirety? You can get some hobbits, a dwarf (troll Slayer?), Legolas is definitely a wardancer, and a bunch of different humans. You'd to save 150k for a wizard each game though. Who sometimes shows up.

Not exactly on topic, but how are inducements handled in mixed races? Will Union of Small People get cheap bribes and chief for example? And what about access to star players?

That is a nice set of rules, comfort. I like it. What kind of mode will be played? Continuous or comparable to Copper, Silver and Gold. If continuous, how long and will there be season or something like that? Or just one cup and see what happens? For the test season, I'm imagining a round robin affair with playoffs afterwards. And if the format works, we can invite teams back in who'd like to continue for another season. Depends how much re-tooling we need to do to the rules after we've taken them for a spin (and if coaches are actually keen to keep playing it). Thanks for the encouragement - but we'll need coaches to vote with their feet. Do you think you could see yourself putting a team in? Frequency of side-cups: basically as often as there is interest in it I could see myself throw a team into this meatgrinder. It has to be after gold or copper is finished though. I probably will need all of my energy to mourn all the stinking elves I will lose on the pitch.

Just did some testing, and it seems no star players are induce-able in this mode (only mercs.) No racial inducement perks either - so bribes and chef for Union of Small People are 100k and 300k respectively, as with any other team.

I think some of the tier one teams such as elven based teams should have less than 16 players as a max, the maximum number in the old cripple cup really helped to balance the teams out.

All i can tell you is that when the mixed races were being created the only restrictions we were really given were around Warhammer Lore.. & so they are no way balanced in any way.. purely for fun. With all the thousands of possible combo's available it's really hard to 2nd guess what will work & what will break a cup with them.. (especially to make further adjustments for a crazy cripple cup!!) So i think what you touched on earlier is the right way forward:- make season 1 a 'trial' season..only that way you'll see things emerge (good & bad) & then continue to adapt from there. With enough dilligence & enthusiasm i'm sure it's possible to find a great environment.. just think of it as Blood Bowl EXTREME!!
As for season 1 structure... perhaps a Weissen format could be interesting?

FYI, on Alliance for Good, Dwarf Trollslayers are armor 8(unless you are restricting them for other reasons).

So I've managed to put together what I think are decent lists across 4 or 5 of the teams.
I haven't been able to make Violence Together work. It gets really close, but keeps lacking something. Not getting the cheap bribes hurts, but one more orc could probably make up for that.
I also don't like Vampires in the Superior Beings list. Thematically I get why they are there, but the description for bloodlust says they have to bite a thrall, and there are too many good guys on that list to have more than 2 thralls which is very limiting. Which makes me also question the Afterlife United list. Can any testing be done to see if they can snack on teammates other than thralls? Other than that, I love the Superior Being list.
Chaos gods also seems a little inferior. With every team picking great players with starting skills, them starting with none seems weak. And it doesn't look like they will progress as well either. Their only advantage is mutation access, and claw is not as good here. Maybe if they had access to Underworld. Then a good mix of strength, beastmen, and mutated goblins. I don't know if I like giving them the skaven though.
Of course, all bets are off if the Small People lose the AV9 restriction. 10 big guys? Hell yes! I don't care how stupid or boneheaded they are.

Violence together won't work in this format due to the AV9 restrictions. Not even worth trying. A: I have a pretty decent Afterlife United Team in the UBL (Currently 11 - 1 - 3). The team has 1 Vamp and only 1 Thrall (admittedly it's a theme based team and Dracula only had one Renfield)... Now a smart opp coach may try to target the Thrall in an attempt to get to the Vampire, but I've been able to use that against coaches that have focused their attention on the poor guy. It does get a bit dicey when the Thrall has been taken off the pitch on a few occasions (usually by the Vamp himself in a bit of overzealous feeding) but as long as I use the Vamp for truly non-essential stuff after his buddy is off the pitch I've had no problems... Hell, on a few occasions I even repeatedly fouled with the Vamp turn after turn, when his Thrall had been Injured and wasn't coming back for the rest of the match...lol...that was fun. Union of Small People isn't good either... No Cheap Bribes... No Cheap Chef... No access to Star Players... Truly awful... AV be damned... Just my $.02 Oz

They have to bite thralls, all other teammates are unpalatable.
