Has anyone here ever had or heard about a player retiring in bb2 due to aging? I've been digging around forums and still can't find anything concrete about it. How does it work, what does it do? My most veteran team has only played 45 matches (WZC) so I'm more curious than anything. And those guys are going into early retirement. I bet Mercy has an answer...

I found this which ties to what I've heard before. As they get older, there is a greater chance they will retire. A comment on this i saw was that a player has roughly 96 to 128 games in his career. All that said, my longest played team is only about 23 games, and all the players are marked as zero years into their career. I do not know if IP has ageing turned on or off though.

Hi guys, sorry i didn't spot this thread earlier.. Yes indeed, aging will kick in between a players 104th - 128th match (or something like that!) If a player retires you'll get a splash screen similar to these:

Why is this a desirable thing to have? I forget why CJ wanted this turned on...

Why is this a desirable thing to have? I forget why CJ wanted this turned on... It was in an effort to keep teams from sitting atop the mountain for too long. Remember some of those in BB1? Also, CJ and the early BB2 amins were keen to use all the features for BB2. Hence the player market and stadium upgrades.

I personally think coaches lose enough players due to the harsh nature of the game... Taking out the most experienced ones at the other end for... no really good reason seems overly punishing. If a team manages to survive into legend status, then good on it, I say. We have tiered tv limited comps, so I don't see this as being as much of a problem than if we were running a perpetual league.

Wait and see how much of an effect it has in game, I think it fits in the fluff side of things and also helps the less bashy teams deal with the bash heavy teams.

I have never played a team beyond 70 matches in BB1 or BB2, so I don't really see it having a ton of effect on most coaches if it takes that long to take effect.
