You could play with an uneven number of teams, if you played in an open league, u could just give 1 team a bye week each week.
Thanks Joe

Yes, I would also think so Joe. But Jester says that Cyanides bye-week system is not functioning all that well. Of course, if no more coaches want to continue in the hospital league this season we will roll with what we have.
As it is now we need 2 more coaches in Stretcher League and then I will start both leagues at the same time.

No mate u misunderstand wat I said.
U cud create an open league like Auld World then u cud just tell every who to play and tell 1 coach each week he has no match that week.
I am in a BBATTL tournament at moment 5 in a group so each week 2 games and 1 guy no match every plays 4 in the end.
So any bye week issues Cyanide have want be a problem as there would be no calendar or fixture list on Cyanide.
Just a thought mate. Thanks Joe

one of the main problems with an open league (like Auld) is you cant admin a win if a play not show up also if your game crashes you cant reset it and replay the game (yes i know you could just replay the game and only upload to BBM the game you want to count But 1 team would have got MVPx2 and 2 scores worth of SPP for the one that didnt count and that is a big advantage)
also some drag out games and dont play in the week they are meant to or not at all (leave half way through a season) it has been tried before and failed

I agree with Jester. Another thing is also; that is can be hard enough to get ppl to even plan their matches they have EASY axcess to the schedule. If it was an open league I'd have to mail everyone every week, so they know who they play. Probably you and I are such coaches Joe, that we would write stuff like that down. But I doubt that everyone is. They would forget and have to search for the info- which only makes getting the match played a little harder. A nice thought, but it's an imperfect world we live in.
I also like the special thing that a non-open league brings, listing the schedule and such. But we became an even number of coaches (8) last nigth, so hopefully we won't be subject to Cyanides' failures..

It's enough hassle chasing people up for matches as it is, an open league would be horrendous. Also yay 8, though thought league was sitting at that already. Pity we only had half retention from stretcher.

Yeah, but NEXT season Hospital league will surely grow substantially. So let's cheer on for the newcomers in Stretcher League, so they continue and also join the hardened and bruised veterans here in Hospital League next season.

Yes, there is a thread for joining season 2 Hospital league. This thread is old. It is of course not yet too late to move up from Stretcher League.

Oh I guess I put it in the wrong post... So ye I may try again with my Gobbos, this time in the hospital league.
More inducements I guess
And I cant believe we are discussing to change this into an open league. Gentlemen if we play this kind of format is precisely because we dont like the open leagues. We like to have to meet whoever is playing against our team, to comentate the match aftewards and to see his team develop during its whole lifetime.

Nah, the open-league discussion was just a suggestion from the old discussion about how to fit in an odd number of teams to a divsion.
