Hello IP world,
I'm playing a match this week with some absolute rookie gobs (13 player roster) against an orc team with about 8 skills (no thrower, no troll, 1 tackle Blitzer)
I'll have 360k inducement money (and I have 60k banked). Would you go with
2 bribes and ripper (370k)
3 bribes, fungus (ball and chain star player), nobbla (chainsaw star player) (350k)
Or some other combination of inducements? A wizard might save/secure me a td in a bind?

I’d probably take fungus and nobbla and try to inflict as much damage on a drive (hopefully the opening one!) and have a decent chance for the second half. However, I’ve not coached gobbos so keep that in mind.

Thanks for the input, Hav. The orc av9 is the main problem imo. Removing orcs isn't easy, even with weapons. Fouls and MB hits might be my best option.
He doesn't have any guard, surprisingly. Block on a few black orcs, dirty player lino, and some mb blitzers.

I would advise against a chainsaw vs. Orcs, AV9 and enough Blk to take the little guy out quickly since he loses all that good dodging mojo while he's carting around the chainsaw so he won't be doing much of anything except giving up some easy spps if he fails to break AV on an opposing Blk piece.
Ripper is the kind of muscle that makes a difference, especially since they don't have a Troll of their own to stick Ripper in place.
You'll end up with four (Ripper, Team Trolls x2, Team B&C Gobbo) ST5+ guys (3 w/MB) to their four ST4 guys... that's not a bad equation when you look at it. So I'd go with option 1 above.
Ideally, if you could afford both Ripper and Fungus (ST7 B&C + an additional MB) with a Bribe that would be awesome, then you're not fielding 13 players but 15 players which gives you a chance to ration your own Secret Weapons to off-set the lack of Bribes...
Go Gobbo's!!!
Just my $.02 Oz

Go Gobbo's!!! Just my $.02 Oz Thanks doc! Game was played last MD... I did an awesome first drive removing 5 orcs, but then nuffle happened. I quad skulled in two consecutive turns, and on top of that, my opponent managed some crazy low percentage plays which succeeded. Figured I played well enough, but it IS a dice game after all, and sometimes things don't fall in your favour. Good thing with Gobbos is that at least it's always fun and no one is indispensable. See you on the pitch some time DocOz3000
