Hi guys. First off. I'd like to let you know I'm back. I know I disappeared a little unexpectantly for a bit and screwed things up, so I figured I'd tell you the story. Most of you know know, but I have a history starting with Colorectal cancer going back to 2013(before I started playing here). It is actually one of the things that made me start gaming again and find you guys playing Blood Bowl again. I guess the whole looking back on your life to see what made you happy, etc. Things were going well, Life was returning to normal, and then I disappeared a for bit back in April which I doubt many noticed(it wasn't very long). They had found that the cancer metastasized(?) and migrated into my lung. Fairly quick surgery, some free time off work and life resumed. Unfortunately this time I went in to the doctors office with some persistent headaches that were't going away. Rather than trying to deal with the insurance and the days that it would take to get approved for a scan, I wen't down to the ER and pushed the issue. Low and behold, it was still the same cancer, but they found a piece of it on the outside of my brain and the swelling was causing it to block some sort of drainage channel that gets rd of fluid, hence causing buildup and the headaches. A pretty crazy 24 hours later, I had my self transferred up to Boston, where of course they like to say they are the best in the world, and of course, I had one of the best doctors(but I suspect they all believe that). Surgery was on Monday and they let me come home last night. They say that brain surgery patients recover fairly quickly, which I am starting to believe. The first day was hell, but they get better faster. I got lucky in that the tumor was in the balance/motor function of the brain, so my thinking and reason should be relatively unaffected(which as an accountant is huge for me). I'll have to do a little radiation eventually, but they don't seem too worried about that.
All that being said, I dropped out of Silver to lighten my load, but I will look forward to killing stuff in Copper.
But now the important part. You guys. I'd like to remind you that last season, I played ogres and snotlings in the last copper season, And I got WAAAY too many wins and draws. Don't you just find it a bit embarrassing that you can't beat snotlings even when played by a guy with brain cancer?? You know who you are.
See you on the pitch.
