No body knew who Mad Mic was before the find, some say he was once a dwarven miner looking for a iron ore, others say he was an escaped slave from the mind flayers pits, others say he was a wizard in search of power. Mic may not even have been his real name. what is known is that he was the first to find the golden skull, and it was he that told a stable boy of its power to give eternal life and unbridled power to any who drink blood from it on the day of the blood moon in the time of zennar
The stable boy took it to king Olfguard the storm of the north, the King and all the wise men of his kingdom knew nothing of the Zennar, who or what it was, and so the kind sent his knights far and wide in a quest to find out.
It was how the story of the cup of power was spread, and as more knew about it the more the greed of others came to take the cup from the king. at first it was just thieves, then came wizards and later assassins made efforts to kill the king but it was in the time of troubles that life became hard for the people of the land, for armies and their kings came to lay claim to the cup, and for some 3 decades man, elf, dwarf, orc, demon and undead fought, some joined with King Olfguard and other fought amongst them selves with no one getting the upper hand.
The came the age of the the great games, a very powerful wizard came forth, some say it was a god and others say it was the stable boy full grown and that he had drunk from the cup and it was why he was now a god, what is know is that it was he that put a stop to the wars, and made the leaders of the armies to pick their best 16 and enter a dungeon to play a sport that long forgotten.
when the winner was named he was not given the skull but rather a copy of it and told he had to prove he was worthy by winning the cup a second and then third year in a row, to this day no team has won it three years running, some say the real cup never existed and it was the kings desire for glory that started it all, other say the cup was stolen or lost, others say the stable boy was and is nuffle, none know, but the tradition of the cup continues.
