So here we are yet again, dear fans. We have made it through another grueling season at the top of the Iron Phoenix food chain to witness the last match to determine the Champion for the Immortal Throne!
The match-up:
The Champion Falcon Firebirds v The Borf
Riding possibly the hottest winning streak this side of the battle for the Bronze Shield, Coach Manco is surely on Cloud 9. After witnessing the utter dismantling, back-to-back no less, of Coach Jester's Anubis Serpents and Coach Deano's Grudge Bringers, The Borf looks unstoppable! Sporting a hefty amount of Claw has surely helped this team bash it's way to the final match. But not all teams are built with AV9... Some teams are built to kick deep and dodge around your flanks to pressure your 3-4 players you have back there to secure the ball...
The Borf has not made it to the top using only bash tactics, however... Coach Manco's managerial prowess is next to none as he has recruited a wonderful set of Gor's built for the agility game. The fact that The Borf can switch from bash to agility in an instant speaks volumes about Coach Manco's coaching. Though Coach Manco and his Borf may be the underdog in this match, they will certainly be my favorite!
AND FIGHTING OUT OF THE BLUE CORNER...... WEIGHING IN AT 65 KILOS.... THE REIGNING CHAAAMIPON, AND RULER OF THE IRON PHOENIX FROM HIS IMMMMORTAL THRONE... COACH GOODPASS AND THE FABULOUS FAAAALCON FIREBIRDS!!!!(and the crowd goes absolutely bat-shit)
Coach Goodpass is doing the unthinkable. His Firebirds are using simple tactics and great movement to absolutely crush the teams and coaches in his way. If not for the recent expansion of the playoff format, Coach Goodpass would be looking from the outside, in. Lucky for him, right
This team, from the beginning, had greatness in mind when recruiting it's rookies. They are one of, if not THE best overall team in the Iron Phoenix. Since suffering an unthinkable and unfortunate loss on opening day, the Firebirds have rallied to become the favorite to maintain their place on the Immortal Throne for a second straight season. I salute your resolution, Goodpass. Good luck. Just kick the ball deep, dodge the bulk of your team into the Borf's backfield as he tries to secure the ball and everything will turn out fine
Allright gentlemen, I will refrain from a prediction on this final match day. I will let you decide. Good luck to the both of you and it's been a great season!
