Welcome to Plague Acadamy IPBBL's world renowned school of pestilence!
We open our doors for a new term. Season 10 of the Tin & Bones League has begun & we find ourselves awash with diseased teams - no less than 4 Nurgle squads have entered the competition so we feel it is our task as academics to study, compare & assess the fates, progress & fortunes of our foul quartet.
So pens, notebooks & rotten apples at the ready class. Lets learn Nurgle!

It appears all 4 nurgle coaches are also league administrators! An extra element of unhealthy competition among the IP council to spice things up. 3 of us have landed ourselves in the West Coast division while Deano is duking it out in Blighty division.
We Are Cerberus - Coach Jester/Stig
Wow! A full on positional heavy starting team has been selected by our wiley veteran league founder. Beast, 3 Warriors & 4 Pestigors! How has he managed this?... re-roll sacrifice. just the 1 re-roll & little prospect of gaining any more for a fair few matches. This will make the blocking game a very nervous prospect throughout the campaign, even with 3 RR's it can be a tricky turnover risk for nurgles early on. But the art of blocking with early chaos is to do it sparingly & knowing when not to block, so Jester will be primarily relying on his positional play, patience & restraint - & as a former Khemri champion his prowess in this aspect of the game are way above average.
Los Luchadores Apestosos - HAVOL / Blood & Snot! - Mercy Flush / Nurgle Nation - Deano
We've all gone for identical starting rosters. A slight variation on the full strength/full RR build but with the 4th Warrior sacrificed to accommodate for a beast & a pest. I like this build as it's fairly safe while allowing for a little bit of everything positional-wise. Many coaches would rather have the 4 Warriors & just 2 RR's but i usually dislike taking less than 3 especially on a team with no starting blocking or ball carrying skills. I guess HAVOL & Deano agree!

Week 1
3 defeats & 1 victory. Some tough tough debut games for us all. Luckily i was the fortunate 1 this week but the Nurgle train always takes time to get going so i'm sure no one expected to excel in their 1st match.
The opening match of the tournament saw We Are Cerberus fall to a very narrow defeat in an unconventional match Vs the Skaven team (where Nurgle out passed the rats but in turn got out CAS'd!!) Great positional use of Disturbing Pres kept the Skaven advance muted, but predictably the Gutter Runners were tough to contain & that ,eventually, turned out to be the decisive scoring factor. Very few SPP's were earned & only 20k awarded in gold was not ideal post-match. But CRUCIALLY an early level up on a Pestigor provides a silver lining. A double! & Jump Up was chosen - very nice choice. Extra block & MV potential will certainly pay off. A seriously concussed rotter may have to be kept due to lack of funds & a merc will be required next week.
An horrific match greets Los Luchadores Apestosos as the Undead team literally unloads on them! 2 dead & 1 MNG'd rotter means the team will need 3 mercs against the Skaven. A nice touch is that all 3 Warriors got SPPs out of the game, on such a slow levelling piece this can only be good news. Also, love the WWF wrestler team theme HAVOL, excellent! But where's the Hulkster?
Blood & Snot! Get an unexpected win. Minimal casualties & plenty of fouling was a big help in stalling the dwarf advance + an on-form Pestigor performance ran in 2 TDs. I was very tempted to follow Jesters lead with the Jump Up option after i also rolled doubles but in the end took dodge. Slightly more protection & manuvrability for his early quarterback duty.
Finally Nurgle Nation had a torrid time against a furious Ogre team. They managed to beat up a few Snots, but took a load of damage themselves. It may take a couple of matches to recover, but a few SPPs were gained & 40k in the bank is a good step towards future recruitment.

Week 2
2 wins, 1 mass suicide & 1 hiding from dwarfs in terror??!! Woah Mama!! (or Papa, rather) The smeg really hit the fan this week & no mistake!
Blood & Snot took on their 2nd 'full block' team in a row, but despite a punishing 4 to 2 CAS slugfest in heavy rain ran out surprise 1-0 victors! With no MNG's, a 12 man roster & 150k in the bank this sets them up up nicely for their impending week 3 mirror match with Los Luchadores Apestosos. They just have to decide whether to hire a 4th Warrior or a 2nd Pest... hmm.
Speaking of Los Luchadores Apestosos, they also ran out 1-0 winners this week in a last minute match against the much favoured skaven team. Pestigor Ted DiBiasi got his 1st TD & a couple of SPPs were aquired once again by the warriors.. but with no level ups & only a 9 strong team they will be relying on their twisted genius coach, perhaps some inducement & theblessing of the nuffmeister to emerge unscathed for week 4!
