I want to share this for other rookie coaches like me.
This game is hard, which also make it such a great accomplishment every time you pull in a victory. It feels good, right? Not many video games does this.
There is so much to learn, and Iron Phoenix here is simply the no. 1 place I have found to coach and teach you. With the abundance of amazing coaches and admins, who will spent valuable time to get you better.
Read all the info in the training camp, ask questions and continue playing, even when you lose. Take it with a smile, and try to remember what you did wrong, and the match become a victory, as you will be so much better the next time.
But all that is most likely old news for you. Here is something I didn't know, and it is helping me quite a bit (I hope. Let's see upcoming matches first ). Watch other players replays, especially the one from Iron Phoenix. I'm starting with the finals, and working my way through different races, played by Legendary Iron Phoenix Coaches.
Here is how you do it; - Open BBM - Click "Match" - Go over to "All leagues" and scroll down until you find the Iron Phoenix Leagues. Most of them start with "IP" - In the window below, open the league, and you will see all the matches. - Find the match you want to watch, left click it - In the top menu, find the replay button. Click that. - Now go in to the Blood Bowl Game, under single player, load, replays, and find the match. - Start it and enjoy
Again, I know this is old news for most of you, but I didn't know. After I found out, this have opened up a whole new world of tutorials for me. Better than anything I can read in here.
Now we just need someone (*looking at the admins*) in here to gather all the IP finals under the same league, so it is easy access to "the best of the best of Iron Phoenix" .

One thing that can help is watching the replays in whatever cup you are in to scout the other team you are about to play. You see how they play that specific team. Most people probably don't have time for it, but if you do it, it can help. I personally like to see how they line up when they kick and receive. Also... the other coach isn't guaranteed to do what they did in a specific match. They may have been playing that way because of the team they were playing.

Very keen, Joe. I still do the same, even at my old age

Question: Do we ever have film nights / sessions? Where new coach's are able to review game play with veteran coach's whom are able to assist them in breaking down game play footage to gain greater insight into game play mechanics and tactics?
An, if so whom should I speak with for this type of assistance?

An, if so whom should I speak with for this type of assistance? I watched a final on twitch, I belive, with a commentator and the two players. I really enjoyed it and learned a couple of things. Maybe i can find it again and i will link it. It does seem to take some work, and i wouldnt have the time (and voice) to do it. Still was very good and also some good PR for a league, if it was on youtube. Going to find it, so you can see what im talking about

Not promoting another league here, I hope (it is a very limited league, that only take members from a limited area(Hampton Rd??)).
But I must say, I really enjoy this video. Watched the whole hour and 20 mins in one setting, is something that is rare for me, if I can interact with it.
But here is the video: Bash Final
As said earlier, I wouldn't have the skill, knowledge, voice and time for something like that, but man, oh, man, would I like something like that for this league . Would be an amazing learning tool and a great recruitment piece. Yes, easier said than done

I just watched the beginning of it. I'll have to watch the rest later. I don't think it would be too tough to do it only for the final game in each cup/league. It would be kind of cool to have a couple of the admins do actual play by play. I think it might be good for IP. It would make each final more of an event, and might draw in a bunch of players.

A little fancy camera work would do wonders for K. Offebrand's post game reports I second the idea for narrated broadcasts. This and the TTS game mercyflush posted are brilliant.

Coach Viajero ran a great series at the end of 2013 known as 'The Masters Series' This included live & post match analysis of some of the biggest games to have been played on the entire private league BB circuit at the time. bbtactics.com/forums/behold-masters-series-t3347/
