I thought it might be fun to start a thread where everyone tells us who first recruited them/told them about Iron Phoenix. For me it was Insidious, way back when. I bet Sid doesn't even remember that. I had played a season in USAB under a previous account name a year or so earlier, but this was my first major private league as PN, and it's still my favorite. (On a side note, it was Havol who recruited me to be an admin. So you can blame him for any mess I've made. ) How about you?

Ren introduced me to iron phoenix many seasons ago, tin season 3 I believe. Coach Jester had me administering tin by season 4 or 5.

Combination of Insidious and Deano, chatting to them both persuaded me this was the place to give private leagues a real go. Then after a brief chat, my first game here was a phoenix open match vs Jester's Molesters...which didnt end well but didn't put me off, quickly followed by Greasy Nails kicking the crap out of me in my first league game!

I think it was Coach Jester who lured me over? I wanted to start The Crippled Cup and he lifted the skirt of Iron Phoenix for me, promising milk and honey. I got hooked immediately.

Late January 2011 3 Polish guys, THC!, Czapencki (league founder) & Gobas (Now of OCC fame) were chatting in the lobby & encouraged me to enroll in what was to be my 1st ever private league season. Then called Bugman's Blood Bowl League, our 1st season was a 10 team division & despite being totally outplayed by the majority of highly talented coaches i was totally hooked & there has rarely been a week gone by where i where i've resisted playing a quick match! Amazingly 3 of the 10 original coaches still play in this league today (me,Konky & Jester) even more amazingly after a solid 4 & a half years 7 of us still play regularly - it's hard to compare Blood Bowl to any other game. Here's my 1st match.. dated 6th February 2011.

Ren lured me in through the public in-game forum with the promise of the strange rule set of cripple cup. I submitted an ogre team, if I remember right, and used to be a purist snob, viewing the main leagues as 'easy mode', and cripple cup as the ONLY form of the game the real coaches aspire to. Then when I saw there were spots available in Tin, I got curious, and made my first lil ol lizard team that made it to the finals against Hudd, and since then I've been hooked. MinMax machine, still going strong! (well, until a few hours time when they'll be shredded to pieces by RTSD's str 5 claw/MB blitzer in iron...)

Yep I am so thankful for that day and still chat with Czapencki and THC, so glad I logged on that day and those 3 got me to sign up, and its coz of that i got to get to know you all. any other time i went to join a different league (after Bugmans as bugmans was my very first) ended in disaster (usually a team stuck and cant delete) this is and always will be my home

Well... Havol introduced me to the TT game itself, but I believe that it was Novus who introduced me to this league when it was Iron Breakers Blood Bowl. Then again... I was gone for a while, and Iron Phoenix had risen out of the ashes of IB when I was ready to come back. Havol told me how to get back home to IP.

Though I 'taught' both Novus and sir Autis the TT version of the game while deployed to Iraq in 2004, it was Novus who brought me into the Ironbreakers fold. I was an Auld slut prior to joining and once I found a home in IBBBL, I stayed until I deployed again to Afghanistan. IBBBL subsequently caved and CJ, Mercy, Michaels, Pdarby, and Wobert (among others I'm currently forgetting, no doubt ) created what is now the IP. I don't play anywhere else (probably due to the fact I'd get my ass handed to me worse there than I already do here!).

I can't remember. I am pretty sure it was someone copy/pasting a message into the public chat. Perhaps CJ? I had graduated from Auld and then FOL and then never looked back!
