Gentlemen, the week has rolled. Two matches left. If you're on the fringe, now's the time to hunker down and play your best. Have patience and make wise moves and passes. If you need this win, don't let it get away. Don't settle for the draw.Don't give your opponent the satisfaction of letting him know he's knocked you out of playoff contention. Bring your stompin' boots to the party and get it on!!
Group 1:
Khem in your Face v Neorromanticos
Coach Deano and his Tomb Kings have been MIA the last few match days. Emergencies outside of the realm have drawn his attention. He returns this week just in time to face one of the deadliest teams this side of the pitch.
Coach Hirumazeo and the Neorromaticos are fresh off a thorough dismantling of Norbert Fish and Co. While everyone knows they're always deadly, no one really expected him to do this again!!
PREDICTION:
3-1 for the Necro's. Too many skills. Too much speed. I doubt roughly 200k in induce will really help. Just keep those Tomb guardians safe, Dean!!
MinMax Machine v 14 Things to do with Orcs
MATCH OF THE WEEK
We are in for a treat this MD, gents. Two Bronze playoff teams square off against each other. Coach Jounisii and his boys are fresh from a fortunate 'bye' week. The rest has done the goats well as he'll likely add a little more claw to deal with those pesky Saurus.
The owner of a 3-game win streak, Coach Comfort and the Champion Machine will look to continue to climb the rankings as they avoid the razor sharp claws of the opposition. Down one Saurus will mean more work for the skinks, but I don't think Comfort particularly minds the challenge!
PREDICTION:
Unless some serious early injuries are handed out (by either team, really), I see this being a 'classic' 2-1 grind by Jounisii and his goats. Too much firepower for the Chaos and not enough bench for the lizzies...
Gilgameshi Gobbos Inc. v The Waldos
The Gobbos are coming off their first loss of the season. Who knew a bunch of Vegans could pack so much punch, right?! Missing a potent weapon in Armin the Aeoronaut, the Gobbos will surely struggle to distribute the rock. But what to do with the 240k in induce??
The Waldos are in prime position to strike this week. At full health and armed with a solid blitzing corps, the Waldos are looking to catapult past teams to get into the playoffs! I certainly like your chances.
PREDICTION:
1-1 Draw! Each team will impose their will on their drive. So long as Coach TRS can keep Kane away from his most-desired targets, his team will be in good position for the final match day!
Norbert Fish and Co. V Valerians Vegans
Wow! How does Coach Shaun rebound after a match like last week?! Dropping enough TV to qualify for Bronze, Norbert Fish and Co. find themselves with two matches left to bring an end to this season of Iron. Boasting a total of 3 new rookies to the roster, Coach Shaun definitely has the deck stacked against him.
Coach Insidious is coming off an impressive win versus the then-undefeated Gobbos. Sure he will be missing a few key pieces and will be giving up a metric-ton in inducemets, but he still is looking to earn another three points to climb the standings.
PREDICTION:
I dunno... I think losing half your blitzers in one match will be very tough to rebound from. Regardless of inducements, Coach Shaun will be hard pressed to earn a positive result. I see this going down as a 3-2 victory for the Vegans.
Group 2:
Feygrim Executioners v Gorland Harbingers
Sporting the only undefeated team remaining in Iron League, Coach Hudd has not skipped a beat this season. Jedore and Pereiene have led the way all season. They look to continue the trend against Coach Gorbag and the Harbingers.
The Harbingers were a bit outclassed last MD vs The House. They will certainly regroup this week and, as per the usual, give it their all as they try to halt the tide that are the Executioners.
PREDICTION:
A bit shorthanded, the Harbingers will struggle. Coach Hudd will give no quarter. I see this going down as a 3-0 victory for the Woodies.
Purple Doom Skull v Moar Dakka!!
The orc-off begins!! A measly two points separate these teams. This match mad will prove crucial as a loss might take one of these clubs out of contention (one less Orc team is always good in my book, though ) Coach Wenteros and his Dakka are full strength and will give up some induce to the PDS. Each team has a skill pending so it may come down to who's is more valuable.
PREDICTION:
1-1 draw in this one. The 100k-ish in induce really won't make a huge difference, in my opinion. This will come down to good ol' fashioned positioning and fortune with 1D blocks.
Worri Yallock Miners v Blood & Snot
The Miners have thus far underwhelmed. A pre-season favorite to run away with the Crown, they have struggled every week. This week sees them square off against the No. 2 team in the division in Blood & Snot. These Nergleites have certainly beat a path this season. Their objective; the playoffs...
PREDICTION:
I foretell the Miners suffering another classic 2-1 defeat. Not having a bench will really hurt this team as Mercy and his infested crew are expected to lay the boot on a thick skull at every opportunity. Hope the ref is watching closely this match!
Exit... Stage Left v The House
The Rockstars are also loking for the playoffs. In their way, however, are a bunch of stat-boosted players calling themselves The House. These freaks of nature have certainly hit the gym on their off time. It has been widely rumored that the league will tighten it's PED testing after the season due to this team...
PREDICTION:
hmm... not terribly sure about this one... Guess we'll have to wait until Sunday to find out!
That's all I have this week, gents. Week will roll next Thursday, 01 October.
