Congratulations, gents, for making it this far. The pool has been halved, and now the real fun begins!
MD has rolled; get organising, playing, and uploading!
Unless arranged otherwise, winer uploads to: IP Bronze Playoffs S9. Password 123. Match Day 2.
Here are the match ups:
Wingsteel (Undead - 1640tv) vs. Threeclubs (Norse - 1370tv)
Wingsteel's players are pretty much all aptly named. Pain and Suffering will undoubtedly bring their namesakes, and Run&Gun Jr can certainly run AND gun... his hours spent pumping iron at the gym after training has obviously paid off. The undead will be running with a fairly trim side, which is always risky in playoff/overtime conditions, but considering the stash of skills on this team, and regeneration everywhere, this minmax approach might just pay off. In the opposite corner this week is Threeclub's Norse. If there weren't gobbos still in the comp, these guys would be the out-and-out underdogs of the playoffs. With just 1-2 skills on half his team, Threeclubs is proving to really be the 'little engine who could' this season. It'll be another extremely tough match for the barbarians to survive, but they've proven many a pundit wrong all season, so who knows - maybe these almost naked brawlers can induce their way into some sort of advantage, and make it all the way after all.
Cerumol (Underworld - 1520tv) vs. Goodpass (High Elves - 1610tv)
This fixture pits the strong, wild and crazy of the Cerumol's underworld against the trim, calm and disciplined pass-play of Goodpass' elves. The rat-gobs have a full bench and inducements to boot, while GP's squad will be calling on yet another loner to fill out their ranks in order to have enough to field a starting team. The vastly differing play-styles on show will make for riveting viewing; the only predictable winners we can see right now are the Firebird's dry-cleaners who will be making a bucket-load of cash post-match.
Knockoff (Skaven - 1640tv) vs. Oni_Goku (Orcs - 1630tv)
I love me some bash verse dash, and I'll be sure to tune in to this one. Two of IP's favourite sons throw their squads into the ring to do some damage - either to the scoreboard, or to face. I'm personally hoping these two rip each other to pieces, and the winner fields 11 loners next game (but I may be a little biased at this point of the competition). Orcs will do what orcs do best, and the rats, I'm sure, will pull off their usual high speed, deft hands BS. What IS interesting are the pair of agility boosted blitzers sitting pretty amongst all that muscle, which gives the greenskins some surprising versatility in their playbook, should they require it.
Comfort_Eagle (Goblin - 1570tv) vs. Hudd (Chaos Dwarfs - 1610tv)
Match played... look out world, gobbos are through to the semis...
Game on!
