Three of the four teams left standing are just as surprised as the rest of us that they're in with a shot at the title this season... I normally root for the underdog, but the question is - which one?
Semi final 1 Threeclubs has proven all season that its not having highly skilled players that determines the outcome of games, but the calibre of their coach (and a little generosity from nuffle). His threadbare norsemen's david vs. goliath legacy, week after week after week has been pretty damn inspiring if you ask me. Somehow, he gets his level 1's and 2's to play their socks off each and every game, squeezing every bit of potential out of his lightly armoured aggro-humans. He'll be missing his most experienced player this week as well as one of his str4 pieces, but if Threeclubs' track record is anything to go by, this won't slow him down one bit.
Cerumol's underworld are looking for redemption, and are looking to re-write the history books in this, their second season in Bronze. Can you believe how far the Trink City Royals have come? Their Bronze debut last season saw them at the very bottom of the table, with zero wins under their belt. But look at them now; on the precipice of running away with the title! The team is coming along super nicely, with a couple of serious bashers, and a whole mob of stunty, dodgy, multiple headed bastards who can grab the ball from anywhere. Cerumol brings the best of underworld tactics to each and every fixture, and this semi-final will certainly be one not to miss.
Semi final 2 Bloody hell.
On paper, Oni_Goku's Green Jihad are a pretty safe bet; they're stronger, bashier, better armoured, higher in team value, AND more agile. The deadly block/tackle/mighty blow combo is in play, and this usually spells death for any gobbo stupid/slow/unfortunate enough to be in reach. And out of the four teams remaining in the playoffs, this one certainly looks the part. They've fought their way to the top of a tough division, and a host of top coaches' broken teams lie in their play-off wake... this game could just be business as usual as far as these greenskins are concerned; crush opponent, get paid.
Its always hard to work out whether the fans come to these games to cheer on the spectacle of The Squig Raiders in their incredulous rise through Bronze, or whether they come to get front row seats watching the lil' buggers get dismembered. They've certainly made plenty of enemies in their short time in the Iron Phoenix; teams who've underestimated them and who feel (rightly) ripped off that a bunch of pipsqueaks like the Raiders actually edged them out of the competition. Comfort's favourite LoS busting weapon is sitting this one out - still sleeping off his match against Hudd's Chorfs in the Round of 8, and will be sorely missed. Is it possible for the dream run to continue? Or are they gonna get orked?
Bring it on!
Unless arranged otherwise, winer uploads to: IP Bronze Playoffs S9. Password 123. Match Day 3.

Grellen Degenerate: Blood talk.
We interrupt this regularly scheduled broadcast to bring you the Hobgoblin host with the most (injuries). GRELLEN DEGENARATE! Grellen walked out onto the stage and sat on his chair. He looked at the Cameras and smiling he began his show. "Good evening ladies and Gentleorcs! Welcome to Blood talk tonight we have some interesting interviews with several competitors and soon to be casualties of the Bronze Shield playoffs. So introducing first. He is the coach of cunnin, prince of pogos, guru of Gobbos. He is: COMFORT EAGLE! And he even brought along some of his players. How nice." "Oi Grellen you owes us at least twenty Squigs!" Shouted one of the little Goblins Grellen smirked and retorted with "That's true my little cousin and when you are big enough that I should be scared of you lot. I will run away and still not pay. BWAHAHHAHA. Aww don't cry I have an important question for you. What's your name again?" "Knuckles!" The short Greenskin shouts "DOSENT MATTER! Eh sorry you had to see that audience. Anyway Knuckles how are you lads feeling? I mean it's not every day a Goblin team makes it to the semi finals of a tournament. In fact it's almost no days." "We is gonna beat them orcs propa good. See we'z gots a cunnin plan." Before the Goblin can continue Comfort steps in between him and Grellen. "That'll do Knuckles." He says seething. "Look I'm going to level with you. We know it's a long shot. Goblins winning an IP tournament it's never happened before." Grellen cut him off. "Most likely never will." He said casually while looking at his overgrown nails. "Plus half your team has applied to join Green Jihad next season. Course the Goblin on their team is a lot less eager to jump ship." Grellen said with a wink. "What?" Comfort asked him. "Aww didn't you know why don't we all take a look." Grellen said bouncing with excitement he grabbed his remote and turned on the Crystal ball behind his seat. Some security footage of the Green Jihads stadium shows several of the Raiders players leaving with potential contracts in hand. "Seems like your boys aint so loyal. Sure this isn't a Hobgoblin team eh." Grellen chuckled at his own joke. "At least you still hav-" Comfort threw a punch at the Host. "CUT THE FEED! TONY CUT IT!" the Hobgoblin shrieked as the now enraged coach began picking up his own players and throwing them at Grellen. A technical difficulties screen filled the screen as Blood Talk went off the air. The feed came back on a few minutes later with the stage a ruin. Grellen patted himself down and turned to the fans. "THATS WHY WE LOVE THIS SPORT!" To huge cheer from the surviving fans. "Well I was goanna interview some of the other teams and coaches in the playoffs but the stage appears to be a bit broken at the moment. Ah well I can't pronounce half their names anyway! All you need to know is that there will be blood! Lot of it. If you're dating a vampire I suggest you take them to one of these games! And with that I'm off Goodnight everybody!"
Till next time we here at Blood Talk wish to remind you that Grellen is an insane Greenskin who is in no way qualified to do anything he does on this show and therefore you shouldn't try to copy him. Any attempts to copy Grellen are disassociated with Blood Talk and it partners. Apply to be on Grellen Degenerate: Blood Talk at your own discretion

The gobbos finally bow out of bronze... though not without a fight! In fact, they were looking like sure winners at turn 16/16 until Oni's orc did a pass, and 3 successive dodges into tackles zones to get the equaliser!
The game went on with the gobs and orcs trading until sweltering heat reduced the gob side to 7 players for 2 drives in a row... even then, it took a run of double 1's and dubskulls at the worst times in the last drive for the gobs to give up possession and for Oni to secure the winning touchdown at turn 28/28.
This was probably the best I've ever played with gobbos - and my favourite game I've played ever since I joined Iron Phoenix. It certainly felt like a final. If you have some time to kill, Oni's uploaded it to BBM =)
Well done, coach, to snatch victory from the jaws of certain defeat. All the best for the finals, Oni! As for me - I'm taking these gobbos back into the open for some adjustments, and then they're back in bronze for another crack at the shield. Watch out world, these gobs are only gonna get stronger.

As for me - I'm taking these gobbos back into the open for some adjustments, and then they're back in bronze for another crack at the shield. Watch out world, these gobs are only gonna get stronger. comfort First half the orcs received and did a text book 8 turn drive. The gobbo's returned fire on the 8th turn with a 1 turn TD to equalize. Second half the goblins proceeded to slowly remove players to get a numbers advantage but lost the ball when they pushed down the field. Jihad recovered the and left it in the hands of the agility/blodge blitzer. Comfort did a great job with his players to prevent the blitzer from being able to move the ball out of the orcs backfield. The orcs tried freeing the blitzer up to no avail with the ball eventually knocked loose. Turn 16 the pogoer greened up, got the ball then scored the go ahead TD. Down to their last turn the orcs set up for the 1 turn TD only to get a riot and proceeded to move their players into scoring position. Comfort set up a great defense leaving the orcs in a position of requiring a miracle to score. (3+ dodge, 2db needing a pow/skull, pow/dodge or pow, 2+ gfi, 2+ pass, 3+ catch, 4+ dodge, 4+ dodge, 3+ dodge, 2+ gfi with dodge on the receiving blitzer) The miracle happens and the game goes into OT tied 2-2. The gobbo's received in overtime and score on turn 21. The orcs return fire scoring on turn 24. Tied 3-3 and down players for another drive the goblins just could not keep enough players on the pitch to stop the game winner. Overall one of the best games I have been in with both sides having great plays to tie the game up. I also have to say I feel VERY lucky to get the win against a goblin team that was coached amazingly well. I look forward to watching the gobbo's next season and expect great things from them.

I am wondering if I should play my King Goblin team in bronze next season now - hard act to follow! Do it, mate! Someone's gotta bring the fear of gobbo into the hearts of IP coaches, and I'm looking to take a break from bb for a while. Go you good thing!
