Hi people !
I have a question for the crowd. My pro-elf team is doing well in stretcher. I rolled a +ag lineman and he was awesome on last match for picking up the ball under rain, picking up the ball in a tacklezone, dodging through tacklezones like they weren't there, etc...
Now I'm rolling a new +ag for a catcher who already got block. Should I take it and have a block ag5 catcher ? Or go for a blodge catcher like I wanted to do first (this ones are sooo annoying) ?
Ag5 is certainly awesome on 1 player but is it useful to got 2 of them ? Also agility doesn't offer the protection Dodge does (and protection is quite important in Stretcher imo).
What do you say ?

The Cripple Leagues are a bit different than the other leagues. In almost any other league I would say AG5 on 2 or more players is great... but in Stretcher and Hospital League I think Blodgers are better, especially if you already have one AG5 guy to do crazy stuff for you...

I have a HE team with a ST4, AG5 blitzer, and two AG5 catchers. They absolutely terrorise the opposition - at least once they have picked up dodge, leap, tackle etc... The catchers are also incredibly difficult to stop scoring with AG5/dodge/leap... I say do it!

IMO, it depends on the remaining teams you'll be playing for the rest of the season, and your plans for the team in the long run. If you're going to face teams soon who'll most likely get a tackle piece or two (or already have it), then dodge won't do you as much good as agi. And if you're looking to keep playing with these elves past this season, I'd pick agi since you'll get dodge eventually on a normal skill up.

I know that you ended up not taking it (and that it ended up not mattering since it looks like you'll retire the team) but for the record, as an elf coach: AG 5 is awesome, but slightly less awesome in CC since having no rerolls or apothecary forces you to play much more conservatively, and then there isn't much difference between AG 4 and AG 5 -but sometimes, you need to make the fancy play anyway, and then you'll be really glad you have that extra point of AG.

Actually our match comforted me on my choice : I could see that you avoided to blitz my blodge catcher for easier targets and it granted him more moving space. He came really close from scoring. As they have Nerves of Steel, AG5 didn't matter for the hand-over of the ball in tacklezone. And Hell! He had Dodge to securely get away and put the ball behind the line. It is just very sad that Nuffle just gave me the finger here. I agree with you for elves team in general. But for pro-elves teams, I'll say AG5 has not so much impact on the catchers because of NoS. With my coaching style, my catchers always end up running in front, often alone. Dodge gave them 25% less chance to be KO by 2d blocks and 15% more chance to succeed a normal dodge to escape. That are HUGE numbers, even more in CC with no-rerolls. Because of NoS, AG5 will only help them if they have to pickup (very occasional) or dodge through tacklezone. And for the dodge, the Dodge skill will still give them a better edge a lot of time: (3+, 2+ with a reroll) = 83,3% ; (direct 2+,2+) = 69,4% only But for all the other players, I agree with you to take AG5. Remember on the last turns my Lino Lion who just passed through everybody and tragic-comicly failed the gfi ? My personal conclusion on pro-elves that AG5 without hesitation for blitzers, throwers or lino. For the catcher, priority will be to get some blodgers first before taking it.

Throwers especially like AG 5 for obvious reasons -but yes, Nerves of Steel makes it less relevant and while AG 5 is great for dodging through Tackle zones, Dodge is usually better (but then again if you take AG 5 when you get the chance, you can get both!)

I think AG5 is best for a blitzing role - and catchers are great at this. If you also pick up wrestle/tackle/leap, they are truly to be feared. Short term though, you are better off with a skill.

Their thrower rolled AG+ after their last match in stretcher (and I took it of course). They didn't make the Stretcher playoffs but we may seen the Animals again in some other league.
