Gather 'round the pitch, heathens and killers all, the Bronze Shield has reached the final match of its 15th storied season. Two teams from division 1 have made it to the final, giving the "division 1 is weak" naysayers the FINGER!!
First up, we have Coach Tector and his psychopathic skaven team, Black Vermin. The Vermin plowed through the regular season putting up a solid 12 points in 5 games with 4 wins and 1 loss. That record was good enough to earn him the division 1 first seed. Not only did he have wins in quantity, but quality as well, putting up scores like a 6 - 0 against a team of khorne's daemons, a 5 - 1 against a wily necromancer's flock, and a 4 - 0 against a solid nurgle team. In the quarterfinals the Black Vermin faced off with a team of determined and skilled wood elves. They pulled out a 2 - 1 victory against the team value-giving wizard oddsmakers. In the semis the Black Vermin faced off against a particularly scary nurgle squad out for blood. Again, they picked up a 2 - 1 victory, during which time they killed a veteran nurgle warrior, niggled a beast of nurgle, and picked up a number of other casualties, all while avioding serious harm themselves. Impressive!
His opponent, the legendary Coach Wenteros and his equally renowned khemri legion, Nehekharan Necrosphinxes. The Necrosphinxes were the season 9 champions of the Tin & Bones League and their coach has racked up accolades too numerous to list. They finished this regular season as the 3rd seed of division 1, with an average but respectable record of 2 wins, 1 draw, and 2 losses for a total of 7 points. I find it notable to mention here that one of the two losses the khemri suffered during the regular season was to his opponent here in the final, on the last match day of the regular season. The score was 2 - 0 in the damnable Vermin's favor. In the quarterfinals, the Necrosphinxes were matched up against a team of crafty and industrious dark elves, which they dispatched with a score of 2 - 1. In the semis the Necrosphinxes were pitted against a particularly niche and hungry lizardmen team with a penchant for passing. The alligatormen were dispatched 2 - 0 by the Nehekharan khemri.
So who will come out on top? Who will raise the bronze shield high and have their coach and players' names etched into the scrolls of blood bowl history? And who will be forgotten? ...
