I think they should be allowed, but I agree that re-rolls from KO events should not be allowed to be used, making any re-roll of any sort unacceptable. A single re-roll from a KO event saved and used wisely can be a big advantage and in a no re-roll league this seems not in tune with the leagues' ethos.
Thanks
Joe
Both you and Azimov have mentioned the same idea basically - so Why not put my 2 cents worth in (if its even that valuable)
I really don't mind one way or the other truly - the mentioning came about during our game as a way to elimate the RR result completely. If we chose to just ignore that result (for the 2 RR results) and leave the rest I do feel that could (I say could - not WILL) completely unbalance the kickoff results to each team fairly.
For example - I have to receive first (and my opponent has +1 Fame) - the kick off result gives me a RR as the receiving team - basically no KO result - My opponent is able to score say on turn 8 (and lets say put 2 players out) -
The ensuing Kick off is then a blitz - enabling my opponent to successfully remove another player before halftime.
The next kick off results in a Perfect Defense - enabling him to reposition his players (now up by 3) and completely stymie my set up and plan of attack. Lets say I am luck enough to squeeze out a score - on T 13 (cant stall - I lost another player so now I'm 4 short) -
Ensuing Kick off result in a Pitch invasion - of the remaining players I have 3 knocked down to my opponents 1 - now I am 6 players short and only 4 actually standing - my opponent has a 6 player advantage for turn 14 and basically 15 as they can only stand up next to his players that could position themselves - setting up a relatively easy turn 16 Win.
All hypothetical yes - but that could happen - (could have been worse - could have started the second half with another blitz - have had that happen twice in a row more than once) But in this example - the only KO result that went my way is ignored so basically since I lose my result that is 4 KO results helping my opponent.
I would rather either have it be no Ko results or all KO results are used - I get that a RR in this league can be quite useful if saved for the opportune moment - honestly how many times have we been wrecked by a blitz - or stalled due to perfect defense - So the 1 RR is really not any more detrimental than the other results themselves can be.
And I hate the Land Shark - Tricky bastard
I also get it that this is supposed to be a more fun oriented league - but personally would not have too much fun playing a match if I got completely screwed by losing my own beneficial KO result. I don't have to win either - just like it to be as balanced as possible - Those chaotic kick of results are designed for a full team playing against another full team without any building restrictions as part of the base rules (at least for the first Kick Off)
Alright enough said - Time to step down from my Drunken Soapbox
Enjoyed the League structure Ren - thanks for having me -
Enjoyed all my match's vs every coach I played - Good Group.
Hope to play you all again soon (Depends on the PO structure for that I guess)
Just trying (and probably Failing) to make a rational point about an irrational game!
Thanks for letting me rant.
Cheers,
Johnny U.
None of this matters if I can always roll a 6 or a POW with every roll!
And that's all I got to say about that!
