Seems like we'd never make it, doesn't it? Well, here we are. Final day of the season and we have more teams in contention than we have spots available. The top half of the league managed two or less losses which means everyone could swap spots before the start of the post season.
Khem Ragz v Gorland Raiderz
Deano79 v gorbag2
A tough season for both coaches. Especially for Coach Deano as he cruised into the Tin playoffs with this same squad. Coach Gorbag will play for posterity yet again, but that won't make the match any less exciting. Well, there's always next season isn't there? Fellas?
The Simpires v Bumpin' Uglies
nails v parrigan
The Simpires have had a very good run, for a bunch of bloodthirsty, unreliable, bloodthirsty, bloodthirsty beings. They're starting to develop into a real pain for the opposition and they have enough thralls to keep snacking all through the match. However, the Uglies will be no pushovers. Yes, Coach PN may not be able to sneak into the playoffs, but don't count him on mailing the match. Right, PN?
Elemental Unity v LAPHTER
wenteros v weresquid
This pundit thought this would be the match to decide the top spot in the league 9 long weeks ago. The season hasn't gone quite as planned for the rats of LAPHTER. Sure, we expected them to amass the casualties, but I also thought they would continue their run of bullshittery. Seems I was mistaken. Speaking of bullshittery... 3 AG5, and two strip-ballers. 4 dodgers, a slew of NoS, and a blitzer who can really pack a punch. Oh, and a coach that made it to the world cup quarterfinals. Yeah. GL, Squiddy
Glass Cannons v Sylvania's Scions
DocOz3000 v kingcann
The Glass Cannons have certainly delivered this season. I thought they would have succumbed to their almost-universal AV7, but that hasn't been the case. They have faced the competition and kept honing their skills. Just a few more pieces with MB and some guard is all that's keeping these guys from morphing into a real terror. Well, until they get to Gold, that is. The Scions, on the other hand, are still lacking the core skills needed on the bloodthirsty, bloodsucking, bloodthirsty, bloodthirsty vampires to really make them hum. Sure two +ST and an +AG/MA vamp help, but not if they keep running out of snacks during the match. Maybe another season, KC?
It's a Trap v Easy Moders
threeofclubs v comfort_eagle
We've finally made it to the match of the week!
With some serious implications, both coaches are prepping their squads for a do-or-die game. The Tappers have a few tackle pieces to counter the dodgy elves. The dodgy elves have a single tackle piece (without dodge!) to try to stop the Trappers' AG-boosted skinks. I'm certain both coaches will leave nothing to chance and will go for the knockout early. The slight edge has to go for the Lizards; they have the overall movement and strength. However, the Easy Moders have the overall agility and possibly some inducements. Wizard, anyone?
Gentlemen, please post your times before Friday and play your matches by next Wednesday in order to kick of the playoffs on time. Please contact me if there are any issues. Enjoy the fun!
