Guys,
Just leveled my Human catcher. He has rolled his second set of doubles... He's an -MA stat-bust and carrying a niggle. I fully expected him to expire already, but he just keeps ticking.
He's +AG, Blodge, guard so far. Was going to give him Side Step. Is there anything worth taking to maximize his doubles? Maybe Nerves of Steel? Do I just ignore and select SS? Hell, do I just scrap him and save me some bloat?
Thanks for the input.
Also... I plan to enroll this team in Immortal next season, so plenty of killers about.

Hmm hard choice mate, I really like human teams. I Know Mr jester does to.
One thing that Human catcher do very well is score. Though NOS is a great skill you do not want him to be based anyway when he is getting ready to receive. I would take SS. Main reason it will keep him alive longer. SS/blodge he will be hard to knock down, Plus if he does take a push or stumble you can move him closer to the end soon. Or a square he can dodge out to with his AG4. Even with the niggling you have a great player on your hands

I would go NOS but i also would not go guard on a catcher but if i gave him NOS the other skills i would give is pass block, tackle and shadowing

As an OCC human coach, id go ss then fend. The only skill id dare to take on a double would be nos, which personally I really like on my catchers.
However, I would also say, that with a ma bust, and a niggle, id prob fire him. Most mb players are gonna break arm, and when they do, he's prob getting ko'd or injured, which negates the two double skill ups, as you won't be able to use em when ur dead lol.
Just my two cents worth anyways.
Cheers

I'm a horrible coach. I took guard on both my catchers. And they're both AG4...
My thinking was that Humans need as much guard as possible to compete well at higher TV.

I agree there totally.
My logic is that I use my x4 blitzers and the ogre for guard, and any doubles on the linemen for guard. If I get a double on a catcher, I go nos.
I just hate the feeling of having my catchers in base contact with opposing players....I get.....itchy! lol.

I also often put guard on my catchers of ball-guys. I reason that they can then help their team-mates to block the ones that get in contact with your ball guys and that way free them up for the catch or run...
