Two-thirds of the way thru this season, gents! Just a few match days remain to truly make your mark and strengthen your case for the right to don the Iron Crown. The leaders are exactly who you'd expect: finalists from last season's Bronze league, the defending Champion, and a perennial post-season contender. Rounding out the top eight are veteran coaches who always find themselves in the thick of things.
Since we rolled early, we can add the time for this match day. Week will roll next Wednesday 2100 GMT-8, 21 January.

The Matches:
Sour Saurii v Neorromanticos
MATCH O THE WEEK
A battle of number two vs three. Coach Hirumazeo is fresh of a gifted victory by yours truly. He's also down an important piece in his blodge/guard ghoul. How will he rebound? Fielding four rookie players is sure to be tough, but what would you expect our incumbent Champion do? Look, he's our Champ for a reason. Though he's the underdog, I wouldn't vote against him just yet...
Coach Jounisii has cruised to a comfortable spot this season. His lezzies have decimated their foes one by one (Insidious is the exception here ). fielding possibly the best Lizard team yet, he's a definite force to be reckoned with. A few more matches is all Jounisii needs to cement his status among the Iron Great.
PREDICTION: though Coach Hirumazeo is the underdog, doesn't mean he's vulnerable as a contendr for the Iron Crown. However... Coach Jounisii is determined this season. This pundit expects a 2-1 victory for the Saurii. Coach Jounisii won't make the mistake of not scoring when he has the opportunity...
Slinky Jack's All Stars v Northern Pain
MATCH PLAYED
though I would have predicted the result 2-1 for the All Stars instead of a 2-0 skunking... Better luck next week, Deano.
Babes N' Blades v Gorland Inferno
How the mighty have fallen...
So maybe I'm suited to play a different sort of sport/game. One that involves no physical contact. Yeah, that sounds nice A disaster of a season, if I do say so myself. This week's match is no easier. A good coach with solid fundamentals will not yield to me or my weak, deprived lot. Another sad day around the house for me, coaches.
The Inferno is due for a run, Coaches. And it'll start with my Drow. It'll be ugly. It'll be sweet. Coach Gorbag will hold my head high after he removes it from my shoulders, gents! He's out for blood in this one.
PREDICTION: 2-0 for the Inferno. My demise is absolute
Banana Warriors v Severe Drowsiness
The Warriors have had a rough go this season. But though they might be down, they're surely not out. A win here propels them back into the thick of the running for a post-season berth. Top 8 make the playoffs. A win puts the Warriors in a tie for that final spot.
Longstreet's Drow have other plans, on the other hand. A season of ups and downs is sure to end in a definitive manner. This pundit thinks that the Drow and their West-coast offense are too good to go down without a proper fight
PREDICTION: 3-2 for the Drow. Coach Longstreet has the momentum in his corner. I agree with Parrigan. I think he used all his luck on his win vs my darkies.
Maniac Medics v Word of Borf
MATCH PLAYED
I would have predicted the opposite. The claw, I figured, would have made the difference. All the difference. <sigh> So much for my gut feelings, eh?
White Handz v The Night Hawks
The Handz keep rolling. Any opponent, any time. Their solid core of blitzers keep them in the thick of games. And guess what?! Their thrower, Gluva, is tired of taking hits. So tire, in fact, he's taken up a more defensive/hitting role on the team. Hiope that silly loincloth provides him some protection...
The Night Hawks have lost two of their last three and things definitely don't get easier after this match. A win will keep him in the playoff hunt while a loss definitely hurts his chances.
PREDICTION: 2-0 for the Handz. Hopefully Urgsh meets his end at the point of a nicely shined lino boot. But most likely he won't. Not enough strength for the humans in this one. Plenty of guard, but it won't be enough.
Good luck Coaches.
