The Woodie mirror went to a dull 1-1, after some pretty dire dice for me on bonos drive I almost got a 1TTD but the tree trip skulled (direcly followed by my dancer double skulling in the next drive). Dice normalized after that but it the best I could play for was a draw as I did not have the players to stand any chance of getting a defensive and we ground it out for the full 8 turns and that was that.

I knew it was going to be a tough match when Jester dropped the ball in my endzone on the first kick of the game. Three turns later after I got it back to the line of scrimmage, the real work began. The seahawks used their mobility to great advantage always getting in the way. And with time running out, I had to take a chance and leave the ball carrier exposed, which Jester was more than happy to take advantage of to knock the ball loose and prevent me from scoring.
In the second half, Jester received and after I moved to one side to defend, ran the ball across the field to the other side. Thankfully, the orcs left some players in a position to somewhat get in the way in order to buy time for the rest of the team. A lot of GFIs later, we managed to knock the ball loose. Now we had to get it. Nuffle finally reared his ugly head and with a very badly timed double skull by the Seahawks ogre, the Big Green Bashers were free to pick up the ball and run away with it.
Final score 1-0 Big Green Bashers

Putting orcs beside dwarves on a green field could only lead to one thing: utter and brainless carnage. The Losers did not want to play true to their name and started their offence with confidence. Despite missing key positional players one orc quickly saw stars all over his head. However the ball carrier was a bit too confident and was punished swiftly by an orc fist. The ball scattered for a while until a black orc accidentally caught it. He was so proud of himself by this unexpected turns of events that he refused to go down despite several dwarven tries. Finally the Slayer arrived and put an end to this blasphemy. However by this time the orcs were in a comfortable position due to their awesome efficiency regarding cracking armor. Throughout the game the dwarven blacksmiths' finest pieces were torn appart like paper. The orcs managed to gather the loose ball and calmly walk into the endzone just before half time.
Going against 8 dwarves with a full lineup for the second drive forshadowed an easy and dull period. But the Losers were not ready to give up this game yet and Nuffle rewarded them for their bravery. Just after a few minutes into the period two black orcs were out, one of them with a serious injury what the pathetic orc shaman was not able to cure. With numbers almost tied, the game became surprisingly even. The dwarves got extraordinary success from one-on-one fights but in the critical moments something always went wrong. The most they could achieve was to knock off the ball carrier but a lineman was there to pick it up again and sprint until the endzone.

Another 0-0 draw but apparently that's all I needed to advance. Got a couple level ups too so the teams almost not useless. They'd be really good if someone competent was running them I bet.

Thermal Riders (liz) Vs Soup (dwarves)
Last match of the round, the Riders feel pressure as they need a win to ensure the playoffs. They start on attack, classic loose cage makes them go for the TD on turn 4. Next kickoff event is a pitch invasion which the riders had brilliantly planned and paid the fans for. Ends with one skink down, and 3 dwarves down, most importantly the runner which was close to the ball. Dwarves don't manage to pick it up, and can barely get close to it. On the LOS, they are outbashed as one of them is stunned too. These sneaky little skinks use the krox to protect them and go for the ball, deep into dwarven territory. The battle is fierce, and it ends up with a turn 8 TD for the liz. I can say this one I owe to the fans!
Next half the dwarves cage and slowly progress "dwarf-style", liz decide to defend without taking risks and dwarves TD on turn 13. The ending is more suspenseful than we thought, though, as the liz sportingly decide to turnover while bashing the LOS with two nice double skulls. Dwarven ambush is swift (that's weird...) and they end in position to TD on turn 16. They don't have any rerolls left, and the skinks manage to fight their way back and force the dwarf runner a 4+/3+ dodge before TD, which he...fails.
Turn 16 the sauri decide to really start bashing and score 2 injuries.
Ends with a lucky 2/1 for the liz, which makes both teams qualify. Liz are starting to wake up, though they still are really weak for a 5 match team. But hey, goal was to qualify, they can praise nuffle and the fans!

Bullet CLub vs the Yellow Spiders 0 - 1
This was a very disheartening game for the Bullets. The elves managed to, somehow, outbash the orcs and managed to knock out a few key players early on in the game. From there, it all went downhill for the bullets, as they lacked the players necessary to keep the elves from scoring. Some sneaky Dark Elf stalling later, and the Dark Elves are in a large enough lead that the Bullets simply can't recover. Good game Godcyric.

Was really a one sided affair. The Elves won the toss and opted to receive but the Orcs cunningly started the onslaught just a few seconds before official time started to clock. The blitz put a huge pressure on the Flower Power guys who made a mistake in their attempt to get the ball deep behind the aggresive Orc defensive line. Although the Wardancers tried their best to harras the lost ball's advance but by the end of the half broken bodies scattered the field.
During the second half the Orcs got an easy going thanks to the touchback. At first it seemed that the Woodies can pose some threats but as time advanced the Orcs enjoyed bigger and bigger numerical advantage. Still the last remaining WD made a valiant effort and even knocked down the ball carrier on a -2D. However this left him in a dangerously close postion to the sideline and soon he found himself among the crowd where he was greeted by kicks and punches. From that point on it was a walk in the park.

Toad Rangers 2 - 1 Filthydelphia Eaglez The woodies came out on top in the battle for the Group A basement, earning their first and only win of the tourney. Not much to report other than a dead tree apoth'd to MNG. Both sides managed to level at least one player, and no permanent damage was suffered. Maybe the Rangers will move into Silver at some point. Maybe not. Thanks for the match, Vinny.

Math Geniuses Reborn (Illusion) GMT+1 Vs White Firebirds (Goodpass) gmt+1 WCQ group E md 5 Skaven vs High Elves, the crowd bought some snacks to have a stack while they try to get the math right for all those expected TD's. What a bummer, starting with the Skaven that put his heel in the grass just before the endline. The fans looked at each other and lifted some eyebrows. Some even dared to ask: do dashing teams stall too, thought it was a tool of the bashy ones ? So just before the whistle of the ref touched his lips the Skaven took a 1-0 lead. The fans formed lines at the beerstands to have at least some fun during the game with a filled mug of beer. The High Elves used powerplay but forgot to score fast. With the last 2 Skaven forming a tactical formation at a sideline the High Elves used their numbers and an even more tactical ploy to crowdsurf the ballholding Skaven. The crowd went wild, threw their empty mugs away and tossed the ball towards the endzone. A smooth pick up and handoff gave the final score of 1-1. Goodpass

Wumbo Scrappaz 1-1 Dab On 'Em The Scrappaz had lots of Wumbo, but no swag. Dab On 'Em was bursting with swag, but sadly forgot to bring their own Wumbo. Naturally this led to a stalemate. We will be sure to bring more Wumbo to the playoffs.
gg DB Water. I hope you edge out a wood elf team and make the playoffs
