Hello IP community,
I'm quite enjoying the current environment here at IP, but do miss some of the side-cup action that we use to have alongside the main leagues in BB1. To that end, I'd be keen to start up and admin the inaugural IP BB2 Mixed Race Cripple Cup (pending interest)
This thread is to try and gauge the level of interest in such a thing, and to iron out some rules - I'd appreciate the community's contribution to make sure this is something fun and fair to play for the long term.
Everything below is subject to change pending your feedback, but here's the general idea:
Cripple cup rules - (updated 31st Jan thanks to your kind feedback)
-no apothecary allowed (rostered or induced) -no rerolls -no extra training inducement -no masterchef inducement -no skilled mercenaries induced -no Igor inducement -no cheerleaders or assistant coaches -no 'pro' skill -no 'leader' skill -no firing players ever, regardless of injuries accrued. The only way out is death. -fielding a maximum of 3 players in each team's roster with armour 9 or above (including star players and mercs, MNGs do not count towards this max.) -new players may be purchased at any time as long as it follows all team composition guidelines listed here (under review) -all stadium upgrades allowed -1000tv max for starting teams (will look to develop a mid-tv and high-tv tiered system for future seasons if we get enough coaches interested in it) -all mixed teams allowed, with modified rosters as indicated below (mostly to severely limit regen pieces from being added. Some exceptions apply. You can technically use the mixed teams template to create a non-mixed team if you so desire)

*** this modified roster is one which I am very curious to get feedback on... I have allowed 2 regen type pieces. Vampires - because they have a serious negatrait which cannot be negated with rr's or pro skill in this format requiring their personal stash of thralls to eat, and Tomb Guards - because they have decay which means any injuries they DO take will be potentially twice as devastating.
The goal is balance in power across all teams... does this team seem on par with the others?

*** technically, the beast of nurgle could also be up for exclusion because it is a regen piece, but without it, this mixed team is hardly mixed at all. The team doesn't look overpowered to me (but I could be wrong - feedback welcome). I'm currently of the opinion that both big guys in play would be interesting.

Questions/comments/suggestions: 1) Are assistant coaches/cheerleaders banned too, since they help with getting rerolls? 2) I would allow trolls, since they have Really Stupid as a negatrait to counteract regeneration. Same with beast of nurgle. 3) I like the undead alliance roster - that does seem like a lot of regen access, but every team in this format can start as a superteam (and decay will tear up those TGs). 4) Will free zombies from kills be allowed for undead teams? Maybe just for the match they pop up, but you can't keep them? 5) Overall, I dig the rosters. Will allow for all sorts of interesting permutations. And it's cool that only "good" regen pieces are banned. 6) What are we going to do about TV spiraling due to bloated treasury? Just let coaches burn it on inducements every match? 7) Will there be limits to roster size for different teams? Since they all offer so many options, I would say no. 8) I'm interested to see how the tiering system works. Would like to see at least 3 tiers eventually, though that would be a lot of extra commitments for coaches/admins. 9) Maybe a divisional format would work? Fresh teams in division a, teams with one season in division b? 10) No matches outside of CC are EVER allowed. If a team plays outside CC, it can never return to CC. 11) Would we need a limit of 1 or 2 of a given team each season? 12) Probably should include stunty transfer rule, and make sure the limit 3 on av9 is very very clear. I'm sure I'll think of something else, but that's it for now. Btw, I totally know which roster I would go for...

I like it, but I would allow up to 3 av9 OR regen pieces. Makes the rosters a tad more flexible, some of those regen guys are pretty interesting. I agree that AU should prolly have their own, slightly modified rules. Maybe allow them a few more regeners than the other teams?
EDIT: Another possible hurdle is the random journeymen. I assume you'd just have to accept that someone may get one-timers with regen or AV9 once in a while. You'd still not be able to hire them.
